Also a bit worried as the article by Martin Lewis on this site is dated 2009, and thats three years ago, laws can change alot in three years.

I wonder if they asked the local council for permission to put CCTV cameras in.

You might be lucky and hear nothing from the scammers, as they might be trailing a "we won't pay up to get their details, we will only pursue if they "appeal""
