I've accumulated over 100 invoices/fines/letters/threatograms..........never seen court papers let alone the inside of a court yet.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0

My son parked in Sainsburys car park on Easter Monday.
He is a very new driver, and he took my word for it when I told him that it is free parking on Sundays and Bank Holidays. He brought a ticket home!! They only went and changed the free parking to Sundays ONLY
I stuck it on the fridge and thought about it until yesterday (deadline for paying)...times are hard and £30 is a lot in our house, and then copied the template letter on this site, telling them that I wasn't even drivng the car....I shall update you all.....

Honestly i would do nothing and dont even attempt to contact the company. We had the same issue with Euro and and received the usual letters from them (never seen my recycle bin so full) and in the end they just gave up.0 -

Please keep us advised as to progress, sunnyflower, so that when that day comes when they give up and disappear, never to be heard from again, you can, like Rupert, confirm that they are just paper tigers and no-one should be concerned at their pathetic attempts at extortion.
As stated, simply put anything they send you in a drawer and forget it.
Remember that if you were not the driver, they cannot touch you anyway. And you have no obligation to say who was driving. Since you have no obligation to respond at all, that ought to be obvious......0 -
I for one am glad of all the constant reassurances, it happened to me this weekend and to be honest I'm scared because the supermarket where I parked say that the parking company ARE taking people to court. I'm going to follow your advice though and sit tight for now.
Thing thats worrying me to start with is I dont know if the carpark has cctv footage. I dont see how they can have photos of every driver of every car in their car park and without it I beleive they cannot prove who was driving... but they did dig up the entire car park to put the sensors in, so maybe they did put in cctv as well. Would you advise that when the letter arrives, we write back demanding proof?
Also a bit worried as the article by Martin Lewis on this site is dated 2009, and thats three years ago, laws can change alot in three years.0 -
Contract and trespass law hasn't changed for a very long time. Just ignore.
As I said on your other thread, that supermarket were lying when they said that TCP take people to court. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

In fairness, that's what TCP would've told them. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.

A massive thank you for your support. Just wondering.. what do you think the timescale is likely to be, bearing in mind, the alledged offence only happened on saturday.. I imagine it will take them a few days to write to the DVLA and a few more to get a reply before they are able to write and threaten me.0

They don't write to DVLA, it's done online. You can expect your first "reminder" in a couple weeks. They prefer not to have to go to DVLA as it costs them money to get the info so initially they hope you will contact them.
Disappoint them.0 -
