Yes on promotion, but price can change at any time, hence the wording E&OE
As far as I can tell, the old price was neither an error nor an omission, but you're right - they are under no obligation to sell at that price simply because they have done so before.
They are just doing what all the other retailers are doing - trying to make extra profit out of the much-hyped "Thailand crisis".0 -
At the end of the day, what the basket price comes to is what you pay. HDD prices are going up and down greatly at the moment. Even if you do show proof, still not going to get the HDD at 59.99.Yes on promotion, but price can change at any time, hence the wording E&OE
I appreciate that i really do but its the principle of it.
Its the kind of thing a customer services team is made for. Amazons team for example go above and beyond when you have problems. I'm not saying its their fault, I rang up Amazon and they let me return an item that was a couple days beyond the return date, I certainly didn't say it was their fault I just needed that service at that time.
It's not supposed to be complicated you run the facts over, website keeps crashing, price has increased, its christmas busy period do we give the customer a goodwill gesture or not? But this, where can you go when can't even initiate the process, its bizarre.

They can do that with all my best wishes but i'm only one person with a simple customer service request, £10 pounds won't cut much into their profits. If they are denying it to avoid hassle they will lose money because i will not use them in the future.
Again its the situation that stinks, if they can't make the goodwill gesture simply say so.

The live website is still claiming it is "On promotion until 24/12/2011" with an icon indicating the price is lower - pound sign with down arrow. Maplin have stated the £69.99 price is not not lower than since October. So the claim that it is currently on promotion and at a lower price is false ... surely some law about that kind of thing.0

I don't know what your complaining about. The price has gone up and they can change it without notice.
More like you've watched it for so long hoping for a drop instead it's gone up and peeved you have to pay more and it's all Maplins fault.
You win some and you lose some, move on.0 -
They can, but if they do, they can't then still claim it is on promotion and suggest it is a lower price than before.Millionaire wrote: »I don't know what your complaining about. The price has gone up and they can change it without notice.0 -

So this product is at least £20 cheaper then same spec brands and you think i was watching it in the hope the price would drop further? In a middle of a crisis in thailand that is affecting supply?
Wow ok then. :rotfl:
I'm complaining about the website repeatedly crashing when i went to pay, hell its christmas they have huge traffic, i wasn't going to hold it against them i was just making a fairly simple (or so i thought) customer service request.0 -

Of course they can, as long as the original selling price was more than they are selling it for now (when they first started selling, it may have been £100 or so)Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0 -

No, your complaining about the price otherwise you would have purchased it at £69.99
Yes I do, and the website was crashing 4 days on the trott? yeah right. :rotfl:
Anyway I hope you get the outcome you want.0 -
Eskimo,
Have you tried searching for the same drive on eBay? There's a Maplin Outlet eBay shop, and I bought exactly this item (DnM Core 1TB) from them via ebay just three days ago, at £59.99 post free. The offer was limited to two per household. Worth checking.0 -

Unfortunately its now by some quirk of fate the same higher price as on the maplin site or rather i should say 'it was always this price.' :rotfl:
Thanks anyway.
Someone mentioned decent 1tb drives for £55 or less?
Would be appreciated. Thankyou.0
