Yodel are awful, got a call from reception at work to say parcel being delivered (they have to buzz to get in gates so reception know who they are etc), get down to the door and Yodel man is sitting in his van, he said his scanning machine broken so I cant have parcel and takes it away again. He then comes back the next day, I get the call again from reception, go down to meet the guy and low and behold there he is sitting in his van again, I ask him for my parcel and he said I had to wait 7 minutes as he was ahead of schedule !!!!!, he then sat in his van and ate his sandwiches whilst I had to wait around, useless.

In a similar vein, our office also has a downstairs lobby which is freely accessible from the street, then visitors have to buzz via the intercom and we let them in (we are upstairs).

Had two separate deliveries (from Amazon) a few weeks ago by HDNL (now taken over by Yodel). The first one, I looked on their online tracker and the status said out for delivery - then later it changed to 'Delivered - Left in safe place. When I left the office, I went into the lobby, and ther on the floor next to the wall was a package, with my name on. It had been left and not announced, where anyone coudl have walked in and taken it.

After that, we put signs up that all deliveries must be announced. Second delivery by HDNL, same thing, out for delivery, then nothing by home time, so I checked the tracker again and it said 'Delivered - Left in Safe Place'.

Went down to the lobby again, and sure enough, the parcel was left sitting on top of the wall mounted mailbox this time, but this is the killer - it was left directly in front of aone of the signs asking people not to leave stuff unannounced!!!

Yodel themselves have also left parcels behind wheelie bins at home, and I even had one thrown over our rear garden fence, int he rain, and the card they left said it was 'left in a sfae place'.

Anyway, sorry again for drifting off-topic with an anti-courier rant.

Muswell Hill in London has a few of these on display, I have just got back from collecting the 1 that I ordered online.
  • Anybody seen these in Chester/surrounding areas? Typically I walked past a massive heap of them and now that they're gone I'm wanting one :)
  • I'm going to collect the one I ordered from Kingston park (Newcastle) store after work tonight.

If there are any available on the shop floor, I'll post back later - sorry wont be able to get there any sooner though (at work).

Bought a box set of saucepans with glass lids in the Debenhams sale last Christmas, Hermes saw fit to launch them over the six foot gate at the side of the house, and then leave a card saying they were "placed next to gate".

Rang Debenhams to complain, Customer Services didn't want to know and said they can't be held responsible for courier delivery issues !!

Still waiting to hear from Boots about my missing "delivery" which is becoming all too frequent with this particular courier that I'm beginning to suspect foul play :(

I'm gutted as not only had I ordered one for myself but also for other female family members who I know were relying on receiving the gifts from me, so they will also be very upset :(

I had a text to say mine is ready for collection but wouldn't you know it, I couldn't get there today! (Was there yesterday and Monday though!!) Hope I can manage to get along to pick it up tomorrow, but I'm going to be waiting in most of the day due to a different courier-related cockup!!

That is ridiculous! My friend works for John Lewis, and they offer all sorts of Goodwill when things like that happen  Normally another set of whatever you've bought without asking for the original back...

    Reminded me of this though...

  • Forgot to post back last night, but picked up my package from the Boots Kingston Park store, but there were none left at all on the shop floor.

Quite a few people obviously had the same idea as me though, as there were a few people carrying out the same sized cardboard boxes.

My missus gonna be very happy wth it, she loves S&G stuff.
