i would like to make everyone aware that bt will bill you for bundle packages before the end of a contract
my bundle package was due to finish on december 15 but a bill was generated for a new period 0n the 4 december and payment will be taken on the 18 december £43 line rental £81 package
i signed up for a new package on 11 december but was told i still had to pay these fees on 18 as bill had been generated and could not be cancelled i would have to wait until march to have money credited back to me
when i signed up to new deal on 11 december i paid £120 advance line rental and agreed evening and wk end calls with unlimited broadband for £13.25 a month yet they still take £129 on 18 december that is then supposed to be credited back in march
i have spent hours on the phone being fobbed off that they must take this money and credit back to me
why cant they cancell the £129 bill its not the 18 december yet and ive signed up to a new deal
i will be setting up new email address over the next 12 months that is not tied to my provider so at the end of contract they can stick there service where the sun dont shine:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

This happens when you are billed quarterly. If you pay monthly by direct debit, there are literally n benefits to quarterly bills. Paper bills are free, request you be changed to monthly and you will see a credit issued sooner than you think. Although, now you have LRS, you will probably find that's been done automatically.0

Yep, it is normal accounting - not sharp practice. The point being, if you change anything, the credit is repaid so there is no loss to the customer (apart from the inconvenience).0

It's probably too late now but you should have switched to monthly direct debit. You could try it by cancelling the direct debit with your bank then immediately setting up a new monthly direct debit with BT.:footie:
Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.0 -
No, you don't have to pay it. If they took it to court, you would I believe be able to defend successfully and they would get nothing.
In a sane accounting system, a bill after 15 December should show the cost of your current plan being credited. Personally, I would wait for a day or 2 into next week and ask for a new bill. Once that bill arrives, if it does not show the amount for the old plan being credited back, then dispute the bill and if it does show the amount, then ask them for your money back, if the DD is still taken. If they don't give it back, go to your bank and get the money charged back as an erroneous charge.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. BT don't adjust bills that have already been calculated, they just adjust the following bill. You can ask, but they wont.0

Why would it be needed to take this to court?
The account has been billed correct for the current plan and a discount has been taken after the bill has been produced so all amendments will be made on the next bill and backdated. The bill is not incorrect so no dd error.0 -

The bill is incorrect because it is charging for something known to be cancelled. so big DD error.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
The bill is for a charge for services that are current at time of billing. If a change is made after the bill date then these can only be amended on following bills. The charge is not incorrect as the lower charge is a discount added at time of agreement its not a consumer right that that BT give this discount0
