Do you not have songs that remind you of certain times? You could use them? My OH has picked several clubbing songs that remind him of being at uni and I've picked my favorite songs, and wev thrown in some funny ones.
I think if Take That means something to you then its not odd at all. Remember its your day, if you're happy with it and don't think its odd that's all that matters. If its not really a song you both relate to then maybe think of something else?
What about a bottle of wine, a takeaway and a night of googling songs from years you've been together?
Our songs are quite unusual, but we both know why we picked them and its our day.
We've done that for songs during the reception to be played on CD, which was great fun putting together! I'm just struggling for that one song walking back down the aisle to. Take That Greatest Day is a song we both love, I'm a huge take that fan and the words are great for the exit! Was just wondering what people would think about it all being piano music apart frm that one song?0 -
I don't think, as a guest, I would notice.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

I'm determined to have this song incorporated somewhere, I absolutely love it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1qBKOdsd3Q
Love the words so much! Especially the second verse. Might have it in church during the signing of the register but I don't want it to get lost in the background while people are chatting...Mother, wife, scientist, analyst.

Could you maybe have it as your 3 min warning to the groom? Ie everyone is seated and waiting, this comes on and he knows ur outside ready, and then it goes into your one for walking in to?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

Just re-read you're having a church service so don't think it will work. What about as a 2nd dance?Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

Ooh this is freaky - I had a nightmare last night about it being the morning of the wedding and not having organised any music for our (civil) ceremony! I hadn't given it any thought so it was probably my subconscious giving me a nudge
There's a big piano in the room where we're getting married and the H2B wants us to have a pianist but I have no idea what songs to pick! Don't really want piano music for my entrance but seems a faff to set up two lots of music... Only ideas for recorded music are Sigur Ros for entrance and possibly Signed Sealed Delivered for exit? Only been thinking about it today though!

We started seriously looking at the music choices yesterday!
We can't decide what style of music to go for! There are a couple of classical ones I would like, Canon in D for my entrance, and I think air on a g string for the signing of the register?
Neither me nor OH are overly into classical but I would really like some nice sophisticated music for those special parts of the ceremony, and those two I really do like!
Now...for guests arriving and leaving, would it be wrong to have some modern style (not instrumental) music? Or would this be wrong to mix?
We think we want these for guests arriving...
Leona Lewis - A moment like this
Mariah Carey - Butterfly
Extreme - More than words
Atlantic Starr - Always
and for leaving...
Take That - Greatest day
We have been through sooo many songs and many of the ones we would have wanted we can't because they have a religious word somewhere in the lyrics
Can I have some honest opinions please?:jEngaged 25/12/11 :j

My MIL to be is in a choir so we have asked them to sing at our small chapel wedding, for a donation.
She gave me some CDs to listen to.
I think I am having Love Changes Everything as my entrance song. They also sing Lean on Me, Fields of Gold, Amazing Grace and Close to You (by the Carpenters), which I have also chosen to be sung.0 -
My mum has hired me a piper for the wedding so I'm walking into Highland Catherdral.
After the deed is done we are having Scotland the Brave as me and OH are big Dropkick Myurphy's fans and they use this in a song called Cadence To Arms.
He is then playing a variety of traditional tunes whilst we're having pics taken.
We will then be piped into the meal but I haven't decided what too yet maybe Flower Of Scotland.
Our first dance I still can't decide between Never Gonna Be Alone by Nickleback who me and my mum love and OH always buys us our gig tickets so it is a real in joke for us. The other choice is New Found Glory's version of Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. Our first Valentines day together OH did me a CD of all songs that reminded him of me (daft so & so) and that was on there. Also the day he proposed he was driving up to Inverness from London with a stop over in Brum and as he text me to say he was just on the outskirts of Inverness that song started to play on the radio.
The rest of the night we have choosen 1 song from every band we have seen together so it's a real mix of everything from Slade to Killswitch Engage (we are really into Metal music :rotfl:)First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I'm really struggling to decide what song to walk in to. I've narrowed it down to -
Falling – Julee Cruise (OH introduced me to Twin Peaks when we started dating so we have a bit of a fondness for it!)
Avril 14th – Aphex Twin (OH loves it, so do I but not sure if it's fitting!)
River Flows In You - Yiruma
Songbird – Fleetwood Mac
My cousin is playing 3 songs during the signing of the register -
Seat Next To You – Bon Jovi
In The Aeroplane Over The Sea – Neutral Milk Hotel
Stand By Me – Ben E. King
And we're leaving to 'It's The End Of The World As We Know It' by REM.
And there was me thinking this would be the easiest bit (hoho!)[FONT="]
