Wedding Ceremony Music

We had a selected 30 minute playlist for the guests arriving, then DH's 6-minute warning that I was there was Elbow's 'One Day', I walked in to Pachbel's Canon in D, we signed the register to Coldplay 'Green Eyes' & the Beatles 'When I'm 64' and we went out to Jamiroquai 'I'm In The Mood For Love'
Ask your registrar for their advice about music - oh, and don't forget, you'll be unlikely to be able to play "Angel" if you're having a civil ceremony.
Do you mean 'Angels'? If so, why couldn't you have it at a civil ceremony? I know they don't allow hymns but it's not a hymn :rotfl:
Sorry if I've got the wrong end of the stick!0 -
Some registrars are stricter than others... I have heard Robbie Williams Angels has not been allowed in some cases. It can be any reference of god, heaven, angels etc. Or some can be really flexible...:T0

Oh, I am listening to 'bridge over troubled water' and I think it would make the most beautiful entrance song. It is really making me cry though as it makes me think of our friend Jane. It was because of her becoming terminally ill we decided to finally get Wed!

It's not allowed at my local registrars either. Remember it's not just 'hymns' it's anything to do with religion, so you have to be careful with reading too.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
OMG I love that idea and had never thought of it. SO you had a selection of song for people to listen to and when this song came on you were in the vicinity? , waited for your entrance song and voila?
What a wonderful idea.
Yes, the registrar advised us what worked best with the venue (town hall). The 6-minute warning song was to let DH know I'd arrived and was going through the legal bits with the registrar before he went back into the ceremony room to wait for me to walk in.
Then while we were having photos taken afterwards, the whole music selection was put on again as background music. The guests-arrival music was made up of our favourite songs, quite mellow & happy.0 -

It's not allowed anywhere - a civil service is completely non-religious, so no religious mentions allowed in songs or readings.0 -
I need to think about some more songs for the guests coming in as 4 wont be enough i should imagine people will be there about 20-30mins early i hope lol rather have to many songs thats not enough eeek
I've just looked at our list & we had 8 tracks, a total of 36 minutes. Don't forget the music person can always stop them if everyone is ready to go!0 -
