Number 11 reporting in for saving duty! Thank you so much for starting the new thread and adding me to the list Observer.

I have used all of my coins for Christmas shopping, but got one today, so I am off the mark for 2012. :) First I want to save for an Ipod, but I am putting other savings towards this as well. I will see how far I am into the year before setting any further targets.

Regarding the adding up of totals, I don't really see a need for it on this thread. Some people are saving into sealed pots, so won't want to count up until the end of the year. Then there are awkward people like me who save for several things over a year, so the total keeps changing. Also agree you can get loads of coins in a short time, then none for ages... I would just suggest everyone keeps their own totals, and we could do an end of year update?
  • Can I please join for 2012 ive read the posts seems like a fun thread too, I have a few ideas where the coins can go towards, £150 deposit needed for Euro-Disney in November so thats my first goal !!!

A big welcome to Karen71 and Mummy2mygirls! Yourselves plus your targets have been added to post number 2 :T Start collecting as soon as you find one, just be sure to pop back on here sometimes to keep us all up to date with how you are doing!

Hello Callisto. Welcome to the 2012 thread :D I've updated your info.

Hi Lemonpopsical. I'm am afraid to say that you have no choice in joining as you are already on the list :rotfl:With number 20 and updated info what more could you need to join in?

Hi DrSqueeze. I can't believe it is less than a week now. Where does the time fly to?

Seeing your progress sounds a good idea mandz1. I update mine as frequently as I remember - I like a nice number on my sig to spur me on to save more :)

Thanks also callisto for your opinion on the totals question. I too am leaning towards everyone doing what they like during the year, and then if we decide collectively that we want a total towards the end of the year I don't mind adding you all up. But I personally like that this challenge is more flexible allowing people to save for specific things and not just towards December.

    Stay warm all xx

  • Hi there
Please can i join in? I have a sealed pot and have been putting £2 coins in for some time now. I have no idea exactly how much is in there but it's quite heavy! I would guess it's in the region of £30 - £40 but I could be wrong!! I don't have a set target or plan for the money at the minute, but I think I will save as much as I can and crack the pot open next December and pay the amount saved off a debt or purchase christmas presents with it (or maybe both?!?!).

Good luck everyone with your personal challenges. I'm off to subscribe to this thread now.

A vision without a plan is just a dream.
  • Thankyou for the add and ive got my first £2 coin today in my change whoohoo im off the mark x:D
