  • Thanks Observer!

I don't know how much was in my tin already, but I've only put £4 in so far this year so will add that to my signature (and hope I remember to keep a proper tally!)

I now owe my sister £14, as she got another 2 for me today. I'd be rubbish at this without her.:D

Well tonight I made an empty gravy granule tub into a home for 4 £2 coins and 1 £1 coin :j

Added a layer of duct tape to stop me from opening it, and a slit in the top to let them in :)

While reading your post I was smiling, because I made an empty hot chocolate tub a safe haven for my £2 coins and heavily taped it from those tempting hands.:)

My friend asked me today if I could give him change for a £2 coin.

    Could I :j

Then he decided he didn't need bus fare. I said that I would still like to swap change for the £2 coin. So he got it out, and held it in his hand. This is a lovely £2 coin he said, turning it over and over.

So near and yet so far ............... finally it was in my hand and then I popped it in my pillar box to join the rest of them

    Phew........that was hard work

Please add me to this. I have never done it before and it will be a real challenge for me. Don't want to set a target, but just want to see how much I can save without touching the pot when I am desperate!
