  • Morning! My lovely DH handed me a £2 coin this morning and told me to get a coffee on him on the way to work. It makes me happier to put the lovely shiny thing in a safe place...Can I join too please?
  • I'd like to join too - have been doing this with the OH for a few years but sort of gave up when we were getting married. It would be good to do it properly again as we used to put the money towards holiday spending money. Although we had a rule that it had to be a £2 coin given in change so it was more about luck as well. Think I'll stick with that, but just tally up how much we end up saving. We've got £24 in the pot at the moment but that's from last year - can I use that as a starting point?
  • Been to the butchers and the greengrocers today and have 2 shiny coins for my pot of dreams :)

I've been doing this for years (since £2 coins came out really!) and it's a brilliant idea. At one time I had almost £2k in £2 coins, but I bought a couple of expensive items and now it's down to a couple of hundred again. However, when you buy something from it, it feels like you are getting it for free, and it's the best feeling!

I have received 4 little beauties today :) , one thanks to mr A, and 3 thanks to my sister, she needed £1 coins for her tv thing she has and so i swapped her.
Would have been 6, as i actually got 3 from mr A but i had to spend two of them as i was skint and needed to buy something :(
