Thanks so much... I shouldn't really be spending as much as I have been so it all helps. I don't get £2 coins very often but had one to start the pot today.
Can't see my number on the list but I'll check back tomorrow and add it to my signature.

Thanks Observer for starting new thread - I am putting myself down for £200 saved this year - may have to spend some along the way as no idea what 2012 will bring - bit hoping my total saved will be around the £200 mark. Observer is there any way of posting monthly totals for the group - bit like they do on the PAD thread?? Hark at me who just dips in and out - sorry thats probably a lot of work isnt it. But it was just a thought

I kind of do something similar to this. I used to do the £2 challenge but being skint when the shop assistant gives you 4 x £2 in your change, it's a bit hard, so I do 50p pieces and also the new 20p coins. I've been doing this for about 5 years and have had a fair amount which has always comes in handy when skint and a special birthday comes along. I find this easier than every £2 coin.

The sad thing is, probably a week after I changed up my 20p coins last time, the mint announced there was an error in the coins, I had about £40 just in those darn 20p coins and they would have been worth, pardon the pun, a mint.

Observer - I'm very pleased with my pot - maybe bringing lots of luck/money with it?

I'm going to aim for £50 in 2012. Hopefully I can save more but I've never set a target before so don't want to set myself up for a fall, plus in the past there's always been something to get in the way and I've had to raid my stash but 2012 looks to be different :j
