Morning Weller,
Nice to see your thread up and running again. Life is never smooth is it. I feel that when i get one thing sorted out another issue raises its head.
Glad your fighting for Andy's job, you both might feel that you dont want to take the job back (he may get a better offer elsewhere) but why make it easy for them to treat people like that?
Chin up love and remember we're here to listen if you need us.

Blimey I feel exhausted reading all this! But I would just like to say 'Go girl go'
(and to Andy of course
)
I am sure once the MD of the company realises the 'error' of their ways they will be more than accommodating in the future. I just have this image in my mind of Andy being back at work and Sam ringing him to tell him about something exciting he has done at school (being so excited he can't wait for Daddy to come home) and work jumping to attention because last time he called they ended up getting their collars felt for wrongful dismissal!!!
It seems to be another test you have to pass but I know you will pass with flying colours. Keep strong

Andy took this "documents" into work this morning and they "taped" the meeting  apparently he was told he will not be the first person to take the firm to a tribunal, thats says a lot doesn't it? If they don't give him his job back, the so be it we'll see them in court (is it a court - not sure) Anyway, he will find out if hes got this other job tomorrow so keep everything crossed for us - if he gets it he will start on Monday so already getting him ready for decorating this week *terrible, mean wife" :rotfl:0

Just don't know what to do if they do offer him his job back, its good money etc and this other isn't as much but near enough and its further to go. But if he is offered his old job back and refuses it then we can't take them to a tribunal I don't think
Anyway, will wait and see.0 -
Hope all goes well today - thinking of you all

Well, its been quite a couple of days. Andy got a phone call from one of the guys he worked (s) with last night to say another 5 guys had been made redunant so this guy thought they would offer Andy his job back and then make him redundant so we weren't going to answer phone etc and made a claim to the tribunal this morning. So he phones the man up who he did the welding test for to find out he hasn't got the job
, so off Andy trots to various agencies with his CV and i get a phone call from his employer - says he will ring Andy on his mobile (think on, we'd had already made the claim on line this morning). Anyway the long shot of it is that Andy has been offered his job back but with a difference - he will now be working on site and will have his own van (that he can bring home) and 2 of the lads that were made redundant are going with him (Andy had a say on who he wanted working with him). He isn't going to be made redundant - the manager who manges the site work has assured him of that. It may be longer hours as he has to be on a site at 7.30am but that could mean anywhere in the country so he may have to set off at stupid hours but he will be paid overtime. The GM has been demoted to the shop floor , the man who sacked Andy was very, very nice
to him today and said he'd put his name forward for the site job  and was encourging him to take it  .
So anyway, he's back at work tomorrow but still on the shop floor till they get him a van, so don't really know what to thinkTime will tell I suppose but I can't have another asthma attack as he may be at the other end of the country :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm a truly lost for words weller! :rotfl:
I hope you are taking the positives from this hun. See how you have the strength to stand up for yourselves now and you won't let anyone walk over you? :T
I need a bit of wellerness me thinks!0 -
I didn't think it was that easy to sack someone! I can imagine you must be at sixes and sevens as to whether to say with this job, or take the other one. I am not sure what I would do.
Glad you got mad though. You should be proud of yourself for not crumpling under this. Go you!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
