I have spent most of the day in tears, thinking what I could do to make Samuel feel better - not that hes complaining - hes just going about his business with his usual happpiness - its just that because hes stuttering a lot lately I think its playing on his mind though hubby says hes just tired out cos hes been getting up every day when hubby goes to work (6am). I hope thats its and things aren't bothering him.
I live for my children and love them more than you could imagine and I am so lucky to have such wonderful children - I coudln't wish for better.
Anyway rambled on enough - thanks again - it means such a lot, it really does and now I am going to go and cuddle my son
You just keep on rambling hun!
You sound like a wonderful mum, to both Mollie and Samuel. A walk, cuddles and reading sounds great :A
Don't let anyone get you down about Samuel and his condition, even (especially?!) familly......it's not their business, it's **yours** and hubbys.....

You should be proud!
What a delightful wee boy!
Go enjoy your evening and be every proud of that wee lad!Isn't the knowledge that comes from experience more valuable than the knowledge that doesn't?0 -
You should feel very proud of how well you have brought up your son. He is obviously a very thoughtful and caring child and I am sure it is his parents who have helped him develop these traits. Money may buy many things but not a loving, caring child. Give your son an extra hug tonight from everyone on the mse forums!MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

I think threads like yours remind us that there are more important things than money.
So much of the discussion on this site is necessarily about money - and, sadly perhaps, a good many posters seem to put up thread after thread which relate only to how they can make themselves better off (often, at others' expense) although occasionally they try to camouflage this as 'advice' or similar.
It is such a relief to find a thread which reminds us that there is a basic humanity in all of us and that it counts for more than all the money in the Bank of England, never mind getting a few more percentage points on your ISA return.

I had a moment like this the other week. Like any other mother we all want to provide for our kids to the best of our ability but as we all know financially this is not always possible. I was telling this to a friend the other week and saying how guilty I felt saying no ( single mum and have the lets make up for dad not being around syndrome) and they told me that they had read somewhere that the best thing you can teach your child is when to say no I cant afford it. Little lesson learned for me I think and my kids are usually wonderful about it so long as I explain the reason why. It's much better for them to have me unstressed and solvent lol. At his age he will forget all about this so long as you are ok in his eyes. Take care and carry on as he sounds a wee sweetheart. xx:A5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
Currently CC £23,674.36 /£14,895.41/£14315.42
Mortgage £28,214.65/ £26,254.71/ £25,746.43
By end 2020 I want CC at £ 19,000.00.
By end 2021 I want CC at £10,000.000 -
You're not bad mother. When we were small my sister and I shared an advent calendar because my mum and dad couldn't afford one each for us. That didn't make them bad parents.
My mum telling my 16 year old sister she wasn't sure who her father was - now that's bad parenting!
You are a fantastic mum, your kids will appreciate everything you do for them, and maybe you could get the young man involved in helping in some way. Are you any good at growing stuff? Tomato plants are easy enough for kids to look after, and they're cheap. If he feels like he has contributed something he will feel really proud.0 -
It's moments like that, that shows the innocense of childhood and how too aware of lifes situations around them. I hope I raise my child to be as thoughful and compassionate as yours.
As mentioned before, money can't buy everything and as we get older we are taught that it is by too much finiancial advertising. You just show him how strong his mum and dad are and get yourselves out of debt and teach him when he's older how to avoid debt, as for now and always show him how much you mean to him and give him lots of Love and plenty of kisses and hugs.
Good Luck in clearing debt and remember life throws in its highs and lows, we need to learn from the lows so we can have more highs."I AM THE GATEKEEPER OF MY OWN DESTINY" Nacho Libre
