Oh, DDFW, I don't know what to say - you are having a very tricky month. :(

With ebay, because of the hassle and effort involved I don't sell anything that would go for less than a fiver. But if you are trying to scrape together every single penny, I can see why you will sell for lower prices. I hope the sales come good for you.

Could you do a car boot this weekend? Gather together some stuff and make a few quid at a car boot - might tide you over a bit?

    Have some dodgy hugs. :grouphug:

Thanks peaceandfreedom - 1 of the items sold was £10 - the others are lower value and the 99p thing i mean if that was me i'd just clean it and not be bothered :(

We will see what the batch of replies brings - posted on my thread but think its the tone of messages - all threaten negative feedback - i mean why are people like this? Ok - i am not going to let them bother me any more. Especially as in each case i have not done anything wrong.

I hope your OH wasn't too annoyed that you nicked his nail polish :rotfl: :D

I'm going to do the books one shelf at a time I think. It will be the easiest way of doing it rather than trying to hunt down individual books.

Lucky dust heading your way :)

    *dances in lucky dust* :D

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: On OH's nail polish :D

Shelf at a time definitely sounds like a plan :)

So how is everyone else's weekend going?

I have just made sure all invoices are sent - 1 a 2nd time and if no payment tomorrow then Monday i will start a non-payment thing - it'll have been over a week then.

The morning was spent sorting out payments and car insurance. I now have 4 items including car insurance not tracked on cashback so something else to keep an eye on

Going out later - i'd rather stay in so we will see how we go :o

Going to start a good clean up here i think - either tomorrow or monday might perk me up a bit :p

If they've threatened negative feedback, then you can have it removed should they leave it. Ebay don't like feedback extortion.

I sell low value stuff too. If I can get more on ebay than I would at a boot sale then I pop it on. But then for me, it's not a problem getting to a post office. If it was harder, then I probably wouldn't bother.

I'm not achieving much at all today, but enjoying the quiet with a book in the sun :) My cold and cough's made an appearance, so feeling a bit bleurgh.

Hope you enjoy your day :)

Oh i didn't realise that :) i just knew feedback could be challenged :)

My opinion on low value items? Money is money - if something needs to be got rid of but is worth 99p to someone then at least its going to someone who wants it and a bit of money for me too. Having decluttered and sold stuff for years all the 'big' value things are those that go first so the bits and bats of 99p things i'm left with are what i need to try and make my extra money on now. A more ruthless declutter is what generated the slightly higher value things more recently - prompted by the fact i had bills i could not afford to pay :o

I agree though peaceandfreedom and jwil - if these bits were a hassle to sell or post office too far then i perhaps wouldn't bother.

What i would say though is last month i put some things on at 99p - think i mentioned it before - different bits and bobs but some of them went for nearly £10 each so just shows even though i'd have been happy with 99p they were actually worth more to people :) And again - like jwil says even though they were worth 99p on a carboot i'd have got 50p at the most

peaceandfreedom - sorry i didn't get back to you before about a carbooty - i'd love to have enough to do one and generate that instant amount of money but even though i've 100 things approx on eb*y in sold and unsold its not enough for a carboot. Alot are low value things and i've not got stuff that would pull people over to take a look at what i'm selling. What i may do tomorrow as well is review what i've got unsold at over 99p and consider if its worth listing at that start price and if i'd be happy with that too :)

We've also had some surprises with 'worthless' items. Last week, DH and I listed something for £5 + postage. If we had put it out for £5 at a boot sale, we probably would have been laughed out of the field. It sold for over £50 :T Another item that we couldn't get £2 for at a boot sale went for nearly £10.

I've still not achieved huge amounts, but have converted a load of my listings to 99p ones now, as I had over 150 items on so too much for a free listing day.

I've also adjusted the price of a couple of other items and relisted them and listed one new item :T

I've redeemed £10 for amazon from a survey site, and had a £5 one in the week, so slowly growing my balance again :j

    Hi Jwil

Things starting to move for you thats brilliant. :):)

I agree about amazonia ... really getting to the point that I am going to give the books 6 months and then they are going to the charity shop. I buy many books from these shops and its good to give back so in fact you are donating twice... which can only be good.

We just have to keep plodding on. Watch the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves.

Thanks ebayqueen :) I was shocked about how few books I have listed now were going for more than 1p. I will keep some listed that I want to re-read, but those that are ready to go, I will see if it's worth me keeping them on there and just boot them.
