Morning Jwil
Glad you are having a bit of relaxation time at home. I love your de-cluttering of the books:)
I'm still in the 'can't be a***d mode but have a few bids on ebay so that surely will motivate me to do something this coming week. Doing no challenges this month but hope to make some money along the way.
Hi ebayqueen. I think there's nothing wrong with taking a little time out sometimes, it does get overwhelming and just plain tedious sometimes. Good luck with whatever you do decide to do.
Decluttering books is funIt's a valid activity because I don't want to get rid of them until I've read them, but I need to clear some space so need to sit down and read them

Morning all
OH was up and off to work early today and as i *knew* i had loads to do today due to doing nothing yesterday i got up and made a start on the dayWouldn't exactly say i'm going at a cracking pace but i am getting 1 or 2 things done, which are things that don't need to be re-done if that makes sense - eg pot washing is a job that gets done and then needs re-doing as more pots are generated. Once i find a home for my first aid kit it will live there and not need a home finding again
ebayqueen - hope you enjoy this month of stepping back a bit but also hope the ebay sales roll in for you too. hope you are ok x
brizzle - i just have envy over your campervan
jwil - i've started my cake mix and after this post will get on with the next part of itDefinitely trade you some cake for cookies :T No wonder i'm not losing any weight :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Oh well i'm a firm believer in everything in moderation
Hope you have some more nice things planned for yourself today - reading is great and as you say a good decluttering activity which then generates funds :T And baking is fab - a love of mine that i neglected for too long - in my bid not to waste food where possible i've been doing a recipe or 2 each week and must say it is a very relaxing activity - although when the instructions say preparation time 10minutes and it takes me 30minutes i wonder where i went wrong!
Hope everyone has a nice sunday xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Hey DDFW, sounds like you are getting on well today
Cookies are done and looking goodThe recipe says to cook them for 7 mins, or maybe a little longer, mine had to be done for around 20 minutes  Shows how well my cooker works, it's the same age as me  One of those things that does need replacing, but ideally will be done when we do the whole kitchen.
Fruit cake is now in the oven, casserole in the slow cooker which should do me for 2 lunches this week as well :T. I've also picked up some whoopsied rhubarb at the supermarket so that is now stewing too.
That's probably enough domestic goddessy activity for me todayI've got a huge pile of dishes to wash now too.
I'm currently selling 5 items on ebay, all of which are relists, so happy with that. I haven't sold anything on amazon for ages though "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Jwil, your domestic goddess-ness has kicked me into action, I've had a lazy morning - I've got things done but it's all 'virtual' things on my laptop. Must get on and do some actual physical things.
Did make an extra payment of £250 to my cap1 card - I wanted to see it drop below the 1000 mark. This means, however, that I need to make some extra money in February to pay for this. Better get on with it.
I have one thing on ebay at the moment, it's a large piece of furniture, I'll be very glad to get that out of the house if it sells. Has quite a few watchers, let's hope someone buys.
Hi to brizzle, ebayqueen and DDFW - I am now embarrassed by my laziness this morning having read all your posts and so will now spring into action.
And of course, as we thought, the snow has disappeared and all those panic-buyers must be feeling a little bit silly.0 -

Well done on your overpayment P&F, good luck with your furniture sale too, it's always nice when something bulky goes.
The difference in temperature between yesterday and today is dramatic! It's so much milder out there today."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Well I have been reading a book by Sir Ranulph Fiennes about his expedition crossing the Antarctic, and good as it is, I have decided that I don't think I would like to do the same.
The descriptions and the photos _pale_
I truly admire anyone that can put themselves through that :T"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Hi all
I think Sir Ranulph also has serious frostbitten toes (or fingers).. Now that's dedication to the day job!
A productive day today for this household and a LSD too.. Parking today was only £1.40.. Result. Pizza this eve £10. Bingo!! Relaxing today after a great family focussed weekend and no arguments...result
P&F- hi. Has to be making all those people panic buying in the south feel very silly.. Really don't understand it myself. Is it some inner often submerged instinctive reaction to an adverse weather forecast? Something handed done by generations of forefathers?? Or just people following a herd reaction? Yes, he kindly put lots of pictures of his frostbite in the book _pale_
Glad you had a good day though!
I don't understand the panic buying either. There's a big difference in being prepared and being a little bit ridiculous. Then of course it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as shelves empty and people can't get what they want so they panic buy even more."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done on your amazon sale DDFW :T
I had a flurry of bids yesterday and sold quite a few items in the end, so I am very happy. One item I'd had on there for years but hadn't bothered to take it off as I thought I'd keep it if I didn't sell it."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
