Yuck, had a rubbish day today, lots to do and two meetings that seriously overran so not a lot of spare time. I've got a nice early start tomorrow so really looking forward to that.

Sorry you had a bad day, Jwil, how annoying on your first day back.

Oh well, things can only get better. :D

Oooh, peaceandfreedom, love the new challenge!! Good luck and well done on the weightloss so far :T

Yeah, it's a good one isn't it - I really aim to stick to it all this time. I don't want another fat summer and I have so many clothes that I could wear if I wasn't so splodgy.

Aiming for 1 pound loss per week on average - so that should mean I reach my target weight before the school summer holidays. :j

Hi peaceandfreedom - wow! Really well done on your weight loss - i have the same target for now 2stone weight loss (ideally should be 3 but when i weighed myself i'd lost 9lb already so just put 2 stone target for now) I really hope when i get on the scales this week i see that i have managed to lose some *fingers crossed* I am making a conscious effort with this and have kept up with my daily exercise routine :) Although i think i'll have to increase the exercise this week  I too have the same goal - can wear all my slim clothes once i'm at my target weight :) We'll have to cheer each other on :j Are you following any eating and / or exercise program? I've not really latched onto the healthy eating for now as i can't really afford it - but i reason eating fishfingers and veg and exercising can't be all bad x

I think its really good and healthy that you are aiming for this gradual weight loss :D - i get so impatient for the weight to come off :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but someone once said to me that losing it gradually means its more likely to stay off :)

Hey, DDFW, how cool to have a weight-loss buddy. :)

Yes, I believe that losing slowly is better - slow and steady wins the day.

I am following a very simple eating plan that is probably counter-intuitive in some ways for a lot of people. It is low-carb and the main points are:
    1. Avoid processed food as far as possible and stick to 'real' food - stuff your Granny would have recognised as food. If you don't understand the ingredients (or if they consist of chemicals) don't buy it, don't eat it
    2. Eat as much veggies as you want, go easy on the fruit
    3. Eliminate refined carbs including sugar, white flour, most cereals and associated foodstuffs
    4. Eat as much fatty food as you like, just don't combine it with carbs
I am following the Zoe Harcombe diet but it is similar to other similar low-carb plans (read up on Gary Taubes, for example). The pounds dropped in the last few days have been due to cutting out almost all carbs except some wholegrain rice (and let's face it, it will be mostly water I've lost, not fat - carbs tend to bloat a body).

There is no specific exercise program - exercise makes people hungrier and they tend to eat more than they've just burned off. That's not to say you shouldn't exercise, just don't expect to lose much weight through exercise (unless you are exercising for hours and hours every day).

However, I am doing some short intense bursts of exercise because I want to build muscle and build fitness. I like this website which has short sharp very intense workouts: http://www.bodyrock.tv/

I started the 30-day challenge today and did the fitness test and it nearly killed me. :p I love this exercise site because each workout is short and there are tons and tons to choose from. Some need special equipment but many don't. And the ladies demonstrating the exercises have bodies to die for - a real inspiration, not that I'm expecting to end up looking like them, I'm not that deluded. :D

I hope that we'll both be happily wearing our new-old wardrobe of clothes by the summer. :j

That sounds pretty straightforward, and reasonably easy to stick to.

    I'm really impatient too :)

We'll have to share cheap, healthy ish meals. Fish fingers and veg would get very boring after a while :D

Jacket spud and beans, Cottage pie is pretty cheap to make, pasta and tomato sauce, home made soup.

Thanks for this p&f :D I'm currently doing both sit ups - various ones and running. I'm not eating any differently really :undecided Although i could change this when i've got a bit more to spend on fresh stuff. Not sure how bad my food intake is to be fair - on my meal plan i've got shepherds pie - which i will make, jacket potatoes - with a filling usually cheese, chilli con carne - homemade, roast chicken or beef or lamb meal with all trimmings, fishfingers and peas, chicken wraps - again homemade, can't think what else is on there just now. But i did give away a huge creamcake today so thats got to count for something right? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: The good thing is running doesn't make me hungry at all but if i went swimming i always feel i could eat the contents of the vending machine afterwards :p

Gosh i really want to have lost some weight this week - roll on weighing in day !

I have sore sore feet today :( I had a blister on the back of my foot, so decided to wear a newish pair of trainers, as they were the only ones which didn't rub the blister. I now have lots of blisters on both feet  so it is rather painful!

I've sold a few things on ebay though and a book on amazon!
