Chocs - what is the deal with the socks???? Are they solid gold? Or "well worn" ;)

They are BNWT - I have standards :D. I have had these socks in the drawer since last Xmas. I didn't really want them and they have just sat there until I came across them last week. They are very soft and from a nice shop, but I know they don't wash well in the washing machine and I begrudge handwashing anything, let alone socks.

I've sold a BIN (another item of clothing) which has resulted in a £70 profit so my total has increased to £209.

Sorry to read about your experience at the dentist. As you say, one thing at a time.

I also had extractions during childhood which, with the benefit of hindsight, were not the right thing to do. Sometimes I think I should copy what my grandmother, and many of her contemporaries did; have all her teeth out at age 21 to avoid any hassles with visiting a dentist :rotfl:.

Socks should definitely not be handwashed  I hope you get a good price for them though! Well done on your other sale as well :T

I think having all my teeth pulled out might be a solution :rotfl: When I win the lottery it's the only cosmetic thing I'd consider doing!

I got a few bits on ebay for DH last night. It's free listing again this weekend, so will try and get some more on for me. I managed 100 items last week (including relists :T)

I've also redeemed another £10 amazon voucher. I've got £70 in my account now, and the Kindle Fire is reduced to £99 on amazon at the mo

Well done on the ebay sales Chocs!

I too had traumatic experience as child having 4 back teeth removed to 'make space' - nearly choked on all the blood! Wont go into further detail. My last official appointment (apart from a check up 8 years ago) was that I was to make an appt on my way out to have my wisdom teeth removed as they were embedded! After all that space that was provided for them - they decided to lie down! Well I kept walking - to this day they are sleeping somewhere in my gums! :D

I dont know if can be bothered with ebay this weekend - I know I NEED to but I feel shattered at the moment so will see what tomorrow brings. They are back working on the log burning / heating system tomorrow which means me and dogs lock ourselves in upstairs in the bedroom!

    have a good weekend everyone.

I am thinking of getting a kindle fire - hardly use my ordinary kindle though. If I sell my kindle will the new owner have access to my amazon account? Because at the moment if I download stuff off amazon when I next turn on the kindle it automatically downloads?
  • Hey guys

Jwil - i'm still awaiting my kindle case coming  so have not played on my kindle fire HD yet - i got given it early (was for xmas). I charged it the other day thinking the case and protective cover *must* finally arrive that day. Anyway i've not seen the one that isn't HD - but the one i was very kindly given for xmas had an amazingly sharp screen - i was very impressed :) Really want to use it but need the cover and case first! I would say treat yourself to the kindle fire - if you are not bothered about HD or not (only due to the extra cost) it will be nice for you to have something for yourself after all the hard work you do :)

Chocs :j to the sales - i thought you must have Hunter socks as they sell well i think? I like their red wellies just can't afford them :o

I've got one item to list on the bay of e - not sure if i have anything else  Clearout continues apace but down to the last few bits of areas now and not much being turned up thats saleable.

Dentist was not soo bad today to be honest - i expect the next appointments will be harder though

Got to dash - nowhere near ready for being picked up in 15minutes

LAM - i don't have a kindle already and don't know how ot works in terms of account - unless you can change something in the settings?

P&F - hope you are ok hon xx

Hi jwil..good to hear you think you're getting through the low patch. Hope you really feel much better soon.

Dentists can be tricky. I have been lucky altho have just finished antibiotics for an infected gum caused by embedded wisdom teeth. Wasn't fun but hopefully the infection has finally shifted.

Sitting here waiting for the weather to really get stormy. Has been raining hard all day :( although not as bad as predicted yet. We had a huge load of logs delivered today..metre cubed..took me and DDs an hour to bring them through to the log pile and stack them (even badly). So if the leccy goes at least we will be warm!!:T

  • Evening all, I'm sat watching Robbie Williams. Good to see everyone doing well on their sales. I was disappointed the sewing machine which had 7 watchers went for £10 (the starting bid) and another one the same went for £50+. The scanner for £20, again many watchers and questions but only one bid. Two others the week before went for nearly £30. On the plus side a Star Trek pin I'd listed for £2 went for £11 +. All in all we made £52 and for once I didn't undercharge on postage :T

Hope you're feeling ok after your dentist visit. We all seem to be going through the same things at the mo. I had another tooth out last week (infected gum for the third time). Dentist took an xray and the roots were in my sinus cavity which could have caused major probs. I was okay but I'm not allowed to blow my nose for two weeks and can only sneeze with my mout open to prevent damage to my sinuses. Good job I've not had a cold :rotfl:

OH is recovering from his fall, although he has concussion still, I had no idea it could last so long. The doc has given him low dose anti depressents and they seem to be working. His ribs, shoulder and back are still painful. He really has been poorly.

That's my catch up news. I'm made all my Christmas cards and have started buying stamps. Most of my pressie buying has been done. Just need for grandchildren's mum to let me know how much coats cost.

Well that was a longer catch up than I thought. I really must try and drop in more often.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
  • Hi everyone,

Just dropping in to say hello really. Lots to do today and I need to get on with it.

Jwil - hope you are keeping well and getting plenty of rest. When is your baby due (approx)?

DDFW -glad the dentist wasn't too bad. :)

Brizzle - we have an open fire as well and I love it, should really get in some more logs.

Retired - sorry your ebay sales didn't go as well as you hoped, it happens like that sometimes. Still, it all adds up in the end.

I have lots of stuff I need to put up on ebay - I really want to raise about £200 in December if I can. Am looking forward to opening my sealed pot but the kids have asked for fairly heftily-priced items this Christmas. I'm hoping the pot will have a fair bit in it, and I will just have to be more restrained with my present-buying, I go too mad. :o

I think you can delink them but haven't looked into it so not sure of the process.
