Glad you are ok - was starting to worry about you!
Good luck for the dentist - I havent been in years - have an absolute phobia - and like you will only go when I have a problem
I got a refund of the final payment I made on my loan of £70 which brings my challenge total to
£241 / £300 (I think - I am losing track too)
Have £3 in my survey and almost at another £5 with swags cos I did a really easy survey on there for 300 points!0 -
Jwil - I hope the visit to the dentist is OK. I used to have a phobia about going and even took val!um a couple of times to get me there. Then I moved area and changed dentist and now it is fine. The dentist I see now uses all the up to date stuff and the local anaesthetics mean that everything is painless. Even going to the hygienist, who takes great care, is painless. Also, I think the new dentist is pragmatic and I don't feel like I'm getting told off when I go. Expensive, though, so you are wise to go to the dentist now
.
LAM - wow, you are doing well with the challenge.
I have another £35 from MSing so my current total is £139. I listed a pair of socks on Ebay at the weekend. I have a few bids and 62 watchers. Who knew that socks could cause so much interest :rotfl:. I have another two possible Ebay sales this week. I have quite a bit of MS money due which usually turns up towards the end of the month so my balance should look healthier next week.
Thank goodness it has stopped raining. It is awful seeing people with flooded properties on the news and knowing that it will take them a long time to put things right and deal with the consequences.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290 -
Jwil lovely to have you back - glad you had the break you needed and hope you start to get some energy back soon
I totally lost track with my target last month for the challenge
so was really diligent about it this time around. Glad to hear the bump and the puppy are ok too
What is it with all of us and dentists ? To be honest when i was made redundnant i stopped going it was outrageous really as it was really dear  each time i went as i had to keep having xrays 'to be on the safe side' and this was when i went every 6months  Anywho's not been for a few years now and then finally went the other day - knew i had a problem but went to a new dentist which i felt better about and basically i just 'manned up' and mentioned a couple of other things about my teeth i'm not happy withNeed about £200 worth of work doing i *guess* - first piece of work £48 and then a few more appointments after that - i also forgot to mention something else with my teeth - i guess cosmetic rather than necessary - a much longer tooth than the others
oh! i'm sounding lovely now aren't i
so i'll see if le dentist can help sort this out too - even for the expense it would hopefully help with my confidence
but i don't know if there is anything they can do - i;d have mentioned it to the other dentist years ago but it was so expensive that it was so upsetting to me that i could just never suggest anything that would cost even more
the weather has been atrocious - i know there are others much worse off but i keep feeling sick as i *need* the gutters replacing urgently and just don't have any money to pay for it
LAM - you are doing fab again with the challenge
Chocs - sounds like you have some good amounts due in too :T
At the moment i'm just relying on the bay of e for extra funds xCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
The weather here is atrocious today and flooding everywhere. It took me over an hr and a half to get to work this morning - on a good day it takes 15 mins!
Yes, lots of flooding here too. Had a VERY hairy moment when I drove through a flood that was a bit deeper than I thought, phew - won't be risking that again.
Hope you are managing to get lots of rest, Jwil.0 -

Yeah, that happened to me too. They sneak in these x-rays without bothering to mention that it will cost an arm and a leg. I know where I'll tell them to shove their x-ray if they try that again.
Also, I got a letter from them the other day telling me they'd booked an appointment for me, since I hadn't bothered making my own. I phoned them and advised them where they could shove their appointment as well.
The hygienist woman, who is meant to clean my teeth, instead spends as little time as possible on them and basically just hacks my gums with wild abandon. When I consider what I paid for this, I could weep.
No, the dentist can definitely bog off for a while.
Hope you get on OK with the work you're having done, DDFW.0 -

You are lucky with your dentist. The only phobia I have with dentists is when I have to pay them vast sums of money for doing sweet FA - that's enough to send me screaming for the hills. :eek:0 -
Thanks everyone
I hate going to the dentist and this morning confirmed whyI've been told I need a filling (which I knew as it's one that fell out) and an extraction . I wasn't expecting that. My whole hatred of dentists comes from the fact that when I was a child, every time I went to the dentist they took a tooth out saying there wasn't enough space in my mouth. This happened 4 times. When we moved dentists, the new dentist said there had been no need to remove the teeth at all.
Now I've got to have another one removed, and I'm not sure which one as I didn't confirm. I thought she said the one next to the tooth being filled which wouldn't bother me so much as it's at the back, but I think it's another one which is broken which is nearer the front and so would be visible.I'm going back for the filling first so I can double check but it's still upset me as presumably I'll have to pay privately if I want anything done to make it better.
She also put me down for a private appointment with the hygienist but they can sod off for now with that one."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Chocs - what is the deal with the socks???? Are they solid gold? Or "well worn""If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0
