Hey everyone
I haven't been around much as I've been snowed under.
Been off booting this morning, but didn't buy much except a lampshade :T
I've listed a few items on ebay for DH yesterday and going to try and get some more on for me today (just done one).
I've sold 2 books so have another 7 to add to my total, and I have some bits going out later so hoping for another few sales later.
Hope everyone's having a good day
So that's £51/£300 = £249 to go."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Hello I'm okay thank you

Hope the Ebaying goes wellx

Jwil, have you tried the Amazon trade in thing? It looks quite like music magpie to me. The few items I checked were not worth much - is that typical? If so, it would be more for clearing space than making money.
Just wondered because I have taken some paperbacks off Amazon today because the pricing seems to be a race to the bottom and it isn't worth the hassle for the odd sale I get.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm planning to for all the books that I can't get rid of but are still in decent condition. I'll try car booting them first as I'll get more there, but if they don't sell there, I'm planning on trying amazon.
I did see some textbooks I have on there for decent money, but I want to keep those.
You are right that there is little in books these days, I pulled off all of mine recently that were not going for much and now only have ones worth a bit more on there. It means I only sell once in a blue moon though, but I also have them listed on ebay.
I think it's typical that they don't go for much, I think most of the ones I looked at they were offering about 25p. I was wondering the other day if I had enough to get vouchers enough for a Kindle Fire (yes I do have that many books) :rotfl:"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
25p - thats crazy!
After ebay sales I have now managed to pay £100 off the credit card. Got a few more things to photograph and put on but the weekend rushed past so fast and I need some decent light as they are black.
hope you are all well (as can be for a Monday)0 -

Amazon appears to be trying to take over their own marketplace sales; buying from private sellers and then selling on offering free delivery. That makes it difficult for private sellers to make money (certainly on common titles) so I can see why people would trade common fiction books in if they had enough of them. It will become a buyer's market. I wonder where it will leave charities like Oxfam books.
Well I still have £0. I listed 5 items on Ebay at the weekend. One has a bid (only £5) which I am really pleased about because it has been listed many times before. I listed a couple of higher value items for the first time and will be interested to see how they fair.
I have a message on my phone to call my dentist to make an appointment now he has had chance to look at some xrays which were taken last week. I can see this £300 being spent before I earn it.

Ouch in more ways than onegood luck - I have a phobia of the dentist!
OK - sorry to hog your diary Jwil but I need to put it down somewhere for the challenge
My goal for this week is :
£5 my survey (up to £3 so far)
£5 swagbucks (ready to cash so hopefully will come through this week)
£20 listed on ebay (hopefully all will sell and hopefully some more than the minimum)
I have some bridlework that is full of mildew that I need to find time to clean and list at some point. Have nothing planned for this weekend so going to have a clean up at home whilst OH is building.0 -
Hey all
Hope everyone is well and doing well on the challenge
I am going to declare currently at £90/£300 on the challenge - basically £80 profit from bay of e - i'm using some stamps towards the 4 parcels i have to post tomorrow so it'll probably be a bit more than £80 profit from this but i'm keeping it in round numbers. And my £10 compensationTried to check what i'm due from my amazonia sale but i can't seem to work out how to find what'll be payable when! I need as much money as i can just to get back to where i was on my overdraft
realised where my extra money went - i hadn't budgeted for the monthly interest charges and i had to buy the new kettle and the food costs have been more lately - and i've been really trying to keep things under budget it just seems everything we 'need' as in not treat stuff is dearer
Plus without thinking about it i've been overpaying on the mortgage beyond the budgeted monthly payment. I'm currently looking at an £800 shortfall on clearing the debt by the end of the year  and all this months challenge money will be just getting me back to where i was. Methinks i need to find more stuff to list
Chocs sorry to hear about the expense - i feel like money is just running through my fingers at the mo. Had the recent broken kettle and hoover and now i've got a letter saying that the boiler service is due and i've paid car tax and have the MOT due too  harumph!
LAM well done on the sales :T

Hey everyone, I'll come back later. Got my scan this morning at 8.30. I'm very nervous now.
Hopefully we'll find out today! Going to eat some sugary sweets before I go to try and get it dancing"If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
Hi DDFW - welcome back.
