What is going on with combined postage threads on here and other ebay forums? Are ebay employees trolling forums to highlight the need for smart sellers to automatically combine postage without being asked??0

Sellers who do this are trying to profit through P&P and buyers are fed up of it.Hi,
Quite a few of my auctions have ended tonight and someone has won 4 of my auctions (clothing) - low winning prices + £2.50 P&P each.
They have sent a request for a payment invoice, so I sent the invoice with the full amount for postage (i.e. no postage discounts). They have sent me a message saying that they want to cancel all items as postage is too high.
I asked them why they hadn't contacted me before the auction ended if P&P was an issue, or if I would be willing to combine postage. To which I got an "I didn't have time" answer.
Where do I stand with this?
Are they committed to buy?
What should I do?
I am not really willing to lower P&P charges as I consider my fees fairly incorporate postage, packaging, time and travel to the PO.
Thanks for your help on this one...
If you want £2 per item, list them for £2 in the first place instead of listing for 99p for free.
It does not cost £10 to post them. And to not even knock a couple of quid of because obviously you only need to wrap once, write the address once, use one lot of packaging, go to the PO once, get cheaper postage for a heavier item etc
No wonder sellers are having the worst Christmas ever.0 -
You are not supposed to profit from P&P - eBay terms. Therefore you are honour bound to reduce your p&p if opportunity arises. I charge EXACTLY what it costs me and I often REDUCE my P&P if I've overestimated.
And I have 100% feedback! Yes, goody two shoes, but I'd feel uncomfortable doing it any other way.0 -

You have actually answered your own question. Smart sellers will have realised that they need buyers to continue- so have to look good against the competition.
Poorer sellers try to use the system to squeeze a few extra pence and then end up on forums like this asking why they can't sell their stuff, or asking why they have been limited due to a poor expanded seller dashboardI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
