  • Well, feeling really super organised... got a folder with business plans, objectives, and schedule all sorted out. Plus expenses I do use Microsoft money - but I will be using a spending diary.

I am also really going to be really strict with regards to grocery shopping, the good thing is that I'm not really a meat lover so already since cutting back on Red Meat food bill is going down. The other thing is meal planning helps a great deal so I am making sure that I try and batch cook as much as possible.

Also another update to my sig - a little bit more money added to the pot. Feeling very positive at the moment. If I don't get the chance to log in over Christmas, I wish everyone one an amazing Christmas and New Year and here's to everyone making their dreams happen in 2012.:rotfl::j:beer:

Thanks Mabel, this year I am seriously on it! You don't have to go heavy I have done a mini business plan before - but I think any plan is better than no plan... I've learned that the hard way! http://www.dynamicbusinessplan.com/mini-business-plan/

  • hello, you can count me in! I did start the challenge earlier this year but I had to give up half way through as my life literally fell apart thanks to my ex and the money I had raised came in handy as it helped me escape from years of what I now realise to have been domestic abuse,so the money I saved from the challenge did come in handy :) I have no specific figure in mind but anything that can be put towards buying a home would be fab! I'll stick my hands up ow and say that the money rasied between now and march will go towards moving into new rented accommodation :)
    ;)

evening all - Elly, hope xmas went well, dilli, mabel, rictus, ssn will join you all in this one - just the usual cake making and growing the cake business, ebaying, bootsales, will also be trying to put away any money from bogof's, woopsies etc, saving £2 coins - did well in 2010 and fell away in 2011 . have a building society account that only has an office 15 miles away so will make a point of putting it all in there so cant get my hands on it unless i desperately need it. so the 12k will consist of earnings, savings and anything else i can i can think of .
starting tomorrow for me!! onwards and upwards
p.s. who got new slippers- can i have your old ones lol!
    skintbint x

Hello old faces and new. I'm going to aim for as much as I can this year. I was here in 2010 and then fell away much like sb in 2011 due to commitments.

I want to save for a lot of things in 2012 such as OP the mortgage, emergency backup, house improvements and more. After yesterday, there are a couple of toys and a phone earmarked for amazon / recycling to generate some cash, so that's a good start.
  • Im totally in for this. Really need to sort my finances out. This should help keep me focused xx

  • Hi Elly, Dilli, Mabel, & Skintbint. Hope you are all ok, nice to see some 'old' names back on here and lovely to see some newbies too. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas x

Well I fell by the wayside to due to not getting a job until June and we have just about sorted ourselves out now.

I have joined the pay off your debts in 2012 too so that I can get and give encouragement to both threads, as we have just under £20,000 to pay off now was £55,546  just over 6 years ago and I need it to be gone now.

I have got some extra hours from work starting 3rd Jan so that's an extra £140 a month to start with. I have cancelled Denplan as a new Dentists has opened near me, the old one was 30 mile round trip this one is 10 miles so much better, also saving me £12 a month. And finally have shopped around for House Contents Insurance and found one that we will pay outright for and is £150 less a year! So saving the £19 a month DD. I have opened a savings account too, it's joint with DD as his OT is going in there.

My aim is to up the ebay, meal plan, and be more organised generally!!
