Well, I have had a cr*p 2011, and havent been on the forums for many a month, but I'm back, and raring to go. In 2009 I went BR, and have maintained a level ground financially ever since, no debt but no increase in profits either, its been a challenge avoiding any debt but I've made it this far and am now determined to go forward with a positive attitude, so this challenge just about says it all - so count me in. As far as I am concerned if I end 2012 in profit of any size it will be the first year I'll have had savings for over 20 years - thats got to be a good challenge!
To those who are given much, much is expected

        £2025 in 2025 = £680.60
          Food Budget £180/9.30.
            Fiver Friday #13 £35

As I want to be more organised this time around I am working on the following today, business plans for all projects, 2012 objectives and targets. As boring as it sounds, I need to take things seriously this time. This is the link for where I'm getting my business plan template from in case anyone needs/would like to do the same.

            I'm in too...

            My plan:
            1. continue to overpay the mortgage by £500 per month = £6k
            2. work on developing new biz in holidays (should bring in £3-4k)
            3. swap shopping at Tesco's with shopping at Aldi (= £20 per week = £960 per year)

            > We are due a sharesave maturing with OH's job in Feb- which should (bar massive share price falls!) bring in minimum of £12k - although we owe my Mum £6k, and the rest will be going on 0% credit cards - not going to count that as it's been planned for yonks - nice to finally come to the end of the 3 years of saving for it though!

            > I've also saved money by booking quality holidays but doing them cheap - eg Eurocamp next summer, but instead of staying in a caravan / chalet we have booked a Supertent - half the price and twice the fun! We've got tickets for Disneyland Paris and have booked a cheapy Camponile motel instead of the Disney prices ones - again I can't include this as I paid for it earlier this year...just thwoing out some ideas - I pick up a lot of useful hints from this site and it's nice to put some back.
          7. I'm aiming to make as much as I can during 2012 because by next Christmas me and my OH would like to be living together so will need money for rent and bills etc
            DEBT TOTAL: £7609.44
          8. Where did you get cheap disneyland paris tickets, we have booked an alfresco and need tickets for 2 adults and 3 kids

            Cheers
          9. Feel like the getting organised part of this is progressing I have got the about 60% of the first business plan done. I have 3 more plans left to write - but it is good getting things down on paper for a change.

On top of that started working on my years budget for 2012. It was good getting things down on paper and seeing what I could potentially do. Very inspiring. If you want to do your own budget you can use one of the templates here. http://www.vertex42.com/Calculators/budget-calculator.html

Other than that trying to do some food planning too - as menu planning helped to keep my money on track last time around. Hope you are all good! Also got £75 deposit for a design job, and £40 coming in from another design project completed.
