I still dont think its your driving instructor's business whether or not you buy a car after the test but I can see your point about confidence. You are obviously not an automatic driver yet. Once you reach that point then you can do without a car and still go back to it. Good luck with the car purchase. I am just slightly concerned because you keep changing your mind about everything and once you have committed yourself to a car then you might wish you hadnt bought it. Anyway, i didnt come on to be negative, you will probably love it because of the freedom it will give you, so go for it. :)

hi all :) i will not rush into it, i have approx 3months in order to find a car and as i said before if i dont find one i dont find one... but its one of my long terms goals that would be completed... I have searched into it and these are the breakdowns for a 1.4 car... £60 insurance, £50 petrol, £6 breakdown, £10 tax, £5 mot = £130 i dont find that too bad as before xmas i was quoted £150 alone to be placed on my mothers insurance...

ummm i am changing my mind so often as i need to make the right desision, yes i will prob make the wrong one but lifes about making mistakes and learning from them. I am also making sure its whats expected of me

Well, it would be a very dull life if we did nothing and took no decisions/risks. Everyone makes mistakes as you say Pap and thats what life is all about. Having a car will be fun and exciting and I think that is what is needed in your life, some excitement and fun. The more I think about it, the more I think you will enjoy it because you are young and it will open up a whole new world for you.
The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best

I reckon just buy the car :)

I would be minded tho to make sure that you take this mechanic with you ;) to check under the bonnet of any car before you buy it- you dont want it to suddenly start costing you a bomb when you get it home.

The reason I support this so much is the job thing. If you had the car, you ar emore likely to be able to go wherever you like, for work or pleasure. If having a car means you can take on a job elsewhere, that will lead you to something you enjoy more than Makro  then thats excellent.

What are you going to use for your savings? Im thinking of the yorkshire regular saver, pays about 7% after tax :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • well i am getting one, i am not rushing and my mechanics keeping an eye out for a little car but if it takes me 2~3 months then so be it :) I have to pass first antway :rotfl: yes it may be the wrong choice but getting some independace and not needing help from my mother etc will help me no end. i know its a big undertaking but maybe it will help me?

umm lynz i put it all into a an isa... but i only have £2.850.00 avalible to go in there as before i started saving properly i borrowed the account to put in money then take it out :( The only prob i can see though is once i find a car i will efectively lose the tax free allowence of whats in there now :( so shall i start saving for a car in a seperate account? with regards to all my savings for car tax/mot/repairs i will put it all into my ing account. Once i have a car i will save my £2.500.00 for 3 months wages, then i will save for my touring :) The time it takes to do this may vary if i get a new job :T

Thankee thankee. May I ask, why do you leave out the salt? And just to reaffirm that the water should be lukewarm and the yeast should not be placed in the water.
