    You do have a choice. You can call his bluff and tell him that you're going to another driving school to take your test because you don't want it moved.

    tes, he has all my details so he is changing it, i tryed to get onto my booking on the dsa website but it wont allow me in saying my driver licence number isnt valid :mad: so he may have already done it... its mad £480.00 i have given him so far with 16 lessons (24 hours) i understand he is providing a service and i am happy about that but its like i am in a catch 22 situation :mad: i may not be ready and i understand that but i was looking forward to it even if it was just so i get the experiance of a test and fail i think the £50 would have been worthwhile

    If he's done that without your permission - he is in deep doo-doo...

    It's *your* test, not his.

    Ring them up and find out if it has changed.

    I think you should write a letter of complaint to the driving school and tell them why you are thinking of giving up driving completely. I think you should go into detail. If he is self employed there must be some kind of driving school association you can complain to. I wouldnt let him get away with this.

  • hi all :hello: thanks for the responses...

    bobbadog ~ i dont want to give up but i am not getting anywhere, and if i have to go 8 weeks before my next test its another £360.00, and what if he then says i am still not ready... mum said i could have used her car last night :mad: never mind...

    ztd ~ i cant be bothered to fight anymore... i would do but why? it would get me nowhere and i will prob be told to find a new instructor, if that happens i would never carry on...

    tes ~ he is a bit of an odd ball... he was with a school but they were charging him too much franchise... so he was then going self employed... now he is staying with the school :rolleyes: i do want to complain but see my comment above, what makes it worse is his brother in law is one of my bosses so i bet he could make my life hell :rolleyes: he hasnt phoned back yet so we shall see... part of me wants to give up part of me doesnt just to prove (see we are back to that) him that i can do it :rolleyes: i also cant really go touring if i cant drive :rolleyes:

    finance stuff ~ umm the two charges went out of my account yesterday, i have decided not to fight them, its too much hassle i will just take it as my mistake, i only payed £6 really anyways... so accounts now...

    bills ~ £157.30
    still needed/to be debited
    £18.00 ~ xmas savings
    £60.00 ~ driving lessons
    total = £78.00
    excess = £79.30 :eek:

    spending ~ £43.83
    nothing to be debited

    savings ~ £310.71 :T

    the excess in my main (bills) account i think is just that... i dont know how it got there but if its not moved before payday i will put it into my savings :T

    Hi posting

    Glad to see some me money going out there.

    Re the driving, I had a thought a whileback when you talked about your height and weight, if you don't mind the intrusion. Also this harks back to my learner days. The instructor insisted on driving OH's car for a bit, and told me if I did not pass in that, he'd give me a couple of lessons in the School vehicle and I would be more likely to pass.

    After passing, I drove all sorts as I used to hire when i needed a car. There is one make of car that cripples me and I will never drive that make again.

    You are 5-1 and size 18/20. That probably means short legs and arms compared with the average human for whom the car was built and to get to the peddles and steering wheel, you need to get the seat forward. It also means that you are sitting relatively low in the car, which will affect you visibility, unless you have a very low windows.

    But (unless you are a very different 18 to me), your "frontage" means that you can't get too close to the wheel, so you have to set the backrest at least further back, and possibly the seat as well.

    Is there anyway, you could experiment, even in your mum's car, with different seat arrangments to find out what is optimum for you? It might make a difference. Then get dead cheeky, take someone with you and try out a few cars in a show room? As long as you do not buy one!
    If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
