Right been away (well not away but not postig) for a few days... many factors but i guess i needed it. I did read a little though... So whats happened? Halifax have oked my current account so thats ready now... using it just for my busniess account so that i know whats coming and going etc... Other than that nothing much... but i have finally got my traning stuff for my promotion (well kinda) so hopefully within 6 months i will be on a higher wage :T

gem ~ yep everything is good. Most people dont know about the training but we will cross that bridge etc etc. Been a hard few days in work the last few days because its 1/2 term so all of the part timers are either on holidays/restdays to care for their children so its just been us three full timers. Which has been quite fun actually :rotfl: quite a relaxed few days but still hard work as we still have to have like everything done. Got tommorow off though thank heavens... only i have just had two more orders for mothersday

Well done on the promotion stuff! :)

I'm sure you'll get the cards done in next to no time - do you find that once you get going, you go much more quickly? I do with scrapping - did 4 pages tonight, although I do very basic stuff so I guess that doesn't take too long any way.

Hope you have a lovely day off.

Hi Pap! Wow, quite a lot has happened since I last caught up with you (got a bit behind....lol). Glad things are going well.

I had a thought about cards for men/boys. Why don't you have a walk around a few mens clothing shops, and look at the designs on t-shirts etc. That will give you an idea of what men are buying for themselves and also what women are buying for their partners (most cards for men have to appeal to women, not men remember, because men, let's face it, are generally not all that fussed about that sort of thing).

What about a plain, cream coloured card, with a couple of stripes down one side and a tribal design (could be anything - celtic, maori etc) in the middle. Really simple but effective.

Another thing that occurred to me was, you mentioned that you are using the Halifax as a business account. I just wanted to say, don't use the phrase 'business account' if you are talking to them about the account, because they will say you can't use it for business purposes because it is a personal account. They might want to move you onto a proper, fee-charging business account. And really, unless you are making regular payments to suppliers, paying out wages etc, you don't need a business account.

I know it might sound a bit sneaky, but most banks are secretly quite happy for small, one-woman ;) businesses to use personal accounts as long as you don't specifically tell them you are doing it.

  • Hey snaggs :j Ahh no they know nothing about the account. Thankfully its all set up though the internet because we havent got a halifax close. I will just be using it as a regular current account only not withdrawing from it.

Thanks for the insperatiojn on the male cards.. i will have to go virtual male clothes shopping :rotfl:
  • Right i dont know if i told you but a few weeks ago i asked for my membership to be reinstated on credit expert beggning of the month using my od which has now been payed (because i couldnt be bothered to wait to send postal orders/cheques :o) well i have never been able to view it online  so i phoned up today to cancel... aparently it was coming up service unavalible because i was suppose to phone them and sort it that way (none of which were on the site!). Anyways i didnt bother and cancelled it £6.99 down the drain... serves me right! Means i need to send off for my report  *snags it was to check out what we have been talking about*....

dont know if i will ahve the funds avalible though as because of posting ebay stuff and cards this last week i now have £50 till pay day... however i have told lil bro he may not be able to have his driving/xmas cash till the 15th of march and he wasnt overly happy but i cant do much

Ummm while on the phone i called halifax and got them to take over my isa from natwest... thats all ok and the forms will be delivered for me to sign and they will then have that... it now means i can have tax free savings.

But while on the phone he tryed to sell me loads of rubbish as they do... but apaerntly to activate my current account (unknown to me) i have to put £100 into it :o  where i will find £100 heavens knows... i have £65 in my open savings account but thats not enough  I also have to go to a branch to do it! the nearest branch is in town  nothings ever simple... anyways i will wait for the gumph and see what happens.

Oh oh i may have sorted that last bit ~ £80 bros money + £50 left in my spending accout = £130 :) it only has to be there for 48 hours so i can get it back out after ~ will still wait for the gumph though...
