PAP, have you looked on auto trader? Also there's two big car supermarkets in Bristol isn't there, might be worth a try?

Says it all re cars, me thinks.

A good tip is ask your local garage which cars they see least of when it comes to repairing them.

  • raph in my budget i am putting away £120.00 per month on top of my £25 locked and £25 open savings meaning i could get my hands on spare cash if things go wrong. raph and beanie thanks for the details about the accidents. Thanks i think i will ask around about the insurance and see which is best as savings £300 is quite a saving.

gem i found a clio on ebay thats advertise in autotrader for £950 and i found the clio listed above in the auto trader. I have also found a little rover. Yes we have two car supermarkets in bristol but the cars range from £3k+

beanie i love the micras but the 'bubble' ones (ie not the straight edged ones) seem to be going for way over my budget. I would love a micra though.

I have had a clio before and it was really good. I go it for £1200 abut 4 years ago and it was R plate. The missus has a micra, had it for 10 years and not a single problem with it apart from when someone drove into it. And also my mum had one and I learnt to drive in it, easy to drive!

Black R reg 1998 Renault Clio. 2 lady owners including myself. 1.2 engine. very low insurance. Cheap to run. central locking, CD Player, Sunroof, Clio Alloy wheels. There is 90,000 miles on the clock but I have just had a reconditioned engine put in with around 50,000 miles on it. Brand new rear brakes were put in, in december. Full service history, 10 months MOT. 4 months tax.

The full service (which i will keep up) and the 2 lady owners is swinging it to this one :rotfl:

It means the car has driven 90,000 miles, but the engine has only done 50,000 miles. So the engine is in slightly better nick. HTH

Also, alloy wheels count as a modification, so would up the insurance!

No, as it's a 'repair' rather than a modification. I.e, I don't have to tell them about my new alternator.
