I find the archos 10.1 AMAZING and I bought it from tesco said it was an 8gb but they are actually 16gb!! Im going to also purchase a 7inch one of these.0 -
Oh really? The archos 101? Not the archos arnova g2? In what way is it amazing? And does it have the full android market or a smaller version? It's a toss up for me between the archos 101 and the advent vega. I'd prefer the vega because it's upgradeable and the archos isn't but the vega is £50 out of my budget (as I'm buying 3) so it looks like I might have to get the archos. Just worried about it being an old operating system :-\
Is it fast? And is it responsive? Like when u scroll down a page does it do it instantly or is it laggy?0 -

Hi smspencer, can I ask whereabouts you are thinking of buying either of those as I am looking to buy two and wanting to get the best possible deal. Thanks!

Well the vega is 199 in currys which is the one I really want, and the archos is 150 in tescos. The arnova g2 is 139 in hmv but when I tried one yesterday it was awful. Has worried me a bit cos it's made by archos. I just want the vega to come down 50 quid but it ain't gonna happen I don't think!0

There is always someone on these forums that is out to TROLL away at people,
get back under your bridge.I'm sure you are BUT it IS still a breach of the terms and condiitions you agreed to on sign up, and in fact you could have only proceeded if you fibbed on the age...
Having run Securus on school provided laptops and seen the stuff that some kids have gotten up to on FB I wouldn't let them on there, as soon as you let them have a device like this unless you're sitting there always with them (no bad thing) then you have no idea whether they've strayed etc even the best kids do. Even more worrying with devices with cameras built in.
I caught a couple of them who had uploaded pics of them in their underwear etc now don't know if anyone knows but if a child takes any pics that could be construed as pornographic then even if the child took them of themselves they could be prosecuted for production of child pornography and anyone who encouraged them to (say a friend or boyfriend) gets done for incitement to produce. They both get a criminal record, both end up possibly on the sex offenders reg and both have a black mark against them forever should a CRB check be done on them for employment in future.
All of that aside you upload something like that and you've instantly lost control of it, a friend decides to distribute it and start bullying you, blackmail etc it certainly wouldn't be the first time something like that's happened.
That's not having a dig at you about the above at all I was just replying to your responsible line above the rest is just from my experience at finding things like this out and dealing with the aftermath of it.
Quite frightening what they can get up to with nothing more than a mobile phone even, there's a whole world of trouble out there and that's without any adult "grooming" or inciting them etc.
Scary stuff. There are plenty of other "safe" social networking sites specifically aimed at children that are monitored and moderated to keep them safe so i'd stay well away from FB. My personal opinion is even at 13 i'd rather they didn't but there ya go...
At the end of the day you can only make the decision that you think is best for you and yours at the time and that's about it at the end of the day0 -
So before a parenting debate took place, was a conclusion reached if this was suitable for a child?? I'm interested in getting one for my 9 year old daughter to use just for internet, films, music, kindle and games etc. This one seems to be the only one in our price range!
Thanks in advance
