I was >< this close to doing a PGCE but a wise friend told me that unless I was 100% committed to not do it. I've never been so glad I listened to her. I don't think here in NI we have the same problems as some of the inner city schools in England but none the less, there are some schools you wouldn't want to teach at. It might seem all warm and fuzzy teaching classes full of polite, well behaved girls like those I went to school with but even in my last year, I came across some little ****ers I'd happily have taught a lesson to. Best example:

I was running late (what me?) from study hall to Maths in U6th and hurried through a set of double fire doors. What I didn't realise was that there was a 1st former standing the other side (only a small bit of glass to see through the doors). The door hit her school bag and din't do her any damage - shame. I immediately said "Oh I'm so sorry" to which this little runt looked up at me and said "So you should be". I was a prefect and all so a sodding great big badge on my blazer saying so but she didn't care. This was at one of the top schools in the country so when my friend advised me to think harder about the PCGE I thought back to this and thought if that's the cheek you get from a good school, what happens in a school where the kids couldn't give a fig?

Teachers - underappreciated. I'm not saying other professions don't deserve kudos but teachers are responsible for educating the masses. Unfortunately a brave proportion of the masses are 'little darlings' who care little for an education. And who gets it in the neck when little Johnny doesn't get straight As or little Susie gets detention?

Did they have ladies PJ's reduced to less than half price at all please?

I didn't actually look at the ladies, but the boys, girls and mens were reduced so there must be some ladies as well
** hoping the baby pjs are reduced too - want some cute pink sleepsuits..***

There was loads of baby stuff reduced in my store, so I'm pretty sure there would be some sleepsuits :D

I noticed all reduced PJ's late last night but the kids section had been destroyed! Manage 2 pairs for DS but he goes through them like anything so would have loved more but all the smaller sizes hardly and 4-5 upwards!

  • The only annoying thing about the pj's though, was the reduced price has been written on the packaging rather than the label, which you can obviously remove.

So they'll need to be taken out of the packaging to be wrapped up, not the end of the world I know, but slightly irritated me ;)

  • Don't know if it's been mentioned already haven't had time to read back kids Jammies reduced @ Tesco thanks to HDUK poster gemdeydo:

    http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/tesco-instore-boys-pj-s-reduced-for-2-3-1097864

Thanks to Cosmic for this - I managed to get a couple of pairs for DS this morning at P33l Centre - anyone local looking for them - you need to scan them as the ones that I got reduced were still marked full price (they were disney cars ones - lots left in 18-24mth size). Also found a few more Kokos £1.01 black lindor £1.12 (am I the only one out there who likes these?!) 36p mini spatulas, some charles worthington mini hairsoray/dry shampoos for 49p and an Art deco tray for £1. The Summer swaddle wraps have now gone back up from £3 to £9.95 - kicking myself for not buying these last week for a couple of friends who are about to pop , forgot to check for Xmas cake and there were no cheap mugs. Ah well, not bad for a quick run round before work!

    Hello 11+ forumites.

Went to T's last night and got the following:

    Another 10 packs 'Splenda' (10p)

Another 15 packs veg crisps (15p)

Another mary berry xmas cake. (£2)

    1 pack pink/ brown koko's (£1.01)

    6 demister pads (25p each)

    19p marinades

clip strip 'chef aid' 2 small red silicone headed spatulas 36p - don't know if this is normal price

Scanned loads of stuff mentioned on here that came up full price like sarah smith cloths, giant choc buttons on clip strips, ecover laundry liquid, toblerone tabelle, thortons pre wrapped chocs.

+ found a 1p item on a clip strip previously mentioned a while back I think:

Ben 10 triple pack 'micros'. Contains 3 micro figures in a box with jelly beans. BBE 06/2011 due to jelly beans, but still has 3 toys in the box

And bought loads of reduced food including 2 'bacon & cheese crispbakes' which were down £3 to 60p. Then a £1 discount kicked in, so they only cost me 10p each, so thanks to whoever posted that one !

And finally if anyones interested, I fractured my big toe on Saturday (17th) by dropping a 'Lidl' wooden tea caddy full of 1p tea bags on it in the kitchen, So remember- being thrifty can be dangerous !
Still virtually alcohol free since 4/1/15. (10 Xmas/ New Year/Birthday drinks)
It takes 3500 calories to lose a pound in weight. Target 13 lbs weight loss. 18.5lbs lost 2nd May - 28 September.
