  • Is it wrong that I laughed reading your post? There is so many similarities with mine, alas not the trainer print / online detectives, but the naming names, asbo, court dates.

My investigation went from, normal police to blooming heck what the next level up boabies called? Well them, within 24 hours. When they heard about the phone, they actually stood over me getting me to call my network and list all the calls within 24 hours, and recognised a few of the numbers including the taxi numbers (more than one). This then linked the group, and then led to successful arrests. I never did get told officially who it was but it was a group of 15-18 year olds well known in the area. So slapped wrist for some, the others care of Her Majesty for a while.

It became almost comical, so many police in the area, cctv mobile units, and so many "works" transit vans around - police had been borrowing to be less conspicuous in their observations. They failed, and it was comical watching for all the wrong reasons. You really needed to be there. The scene would not have been out of place in a sit com.

It was funny. It was a pair of PCSO's that came around. They were very nice but really they just come round for a nose and to give me an anti theft pack....timer for a light, marker pen, you know the sort of thing. I gave them some info and this lady pipes up to her friend "I think the sarge needs to come and hear this" and within 5 mins she was there too!! :rotfl:

5 mins for a police officer - now I am impressed! I have a whole police station 5 mins walk from my front door, but alas trying to contact anyone is a challenge in itself. Not that I've had cause to be there often. You normally need to press a buzzer which takes you through to the main head quarters about 4 miles away, then you get the crackled conversation everyone and their dog can here.

Oh the joys of cut backs, the station not being fully manned 24/7 like it was supposed to be when it was originally built not so many years ago.

Just checked my price check receipts from yesterday and the only items that are eligible for JTD are:

    Mr.T v's Asda
    1 x TOFFEE DODGERS 140G £ 0.75 * £ 0.70
    1 x BURTONS JAMMIE DODGERS 150G £ 0.75 * £ 0.70
    1 x KELLOGGS COCO POPS 550G £ 2.68 £ 2.00

Is there a thread for this kind of thing, might be useful for people going to do shops. I for one would split my purchases and get a guarenteed JTD voucher, as my other items cancelled out any chance of a voucher this shop, I realise it would go out of date quickly.

    Good afternoon fellow MSE 11+ers.

Had a remarkably fruitful day at T's today.

Got Jumbo Cashews (42p) and Pistachios (39p), more Clipper tea bags (1p), 3 more Lucozade Shots (1p), 2 more Beef Jerky Nuggets for my friend's dog (1p), another Yoyo (20p), 1 Butterfly air freshener (25p), 2 Neutradol air fresheners (50p), 3 Halloween Illoom Balloons (88p), Duracell AAA Powerpix Batteries (50p), 4 Melita Perfect Clean thingies (1p) - no idea why as I don't even have an Espresso Machine...:rotfl:, and the last pack of Cadbury's Vampire Mallows (1p)

But the BIGGIE was a huuuuge leg of BRITISH Lamb. There was just one solitary British Leg of Lamb in the fridge alongside all of the NZ ones. Almost chickened out - but I went for it. To their credit the CS staff were really polite. (This wasn't the branch of T's where I do my main shopping -I'd have been severely trouted there).

The CS assistant asked to see the leaflet where I'd seen the half price lamb advertised. Luckily I 'just happened' to have picked one up on entering the store and had it in my carrier bag.

The assistant spoke with the duty manager and initially they were going to just refund the difference. They had even gone to the fridge and got a NZ leg of lamb out which showed the correct price, and were going to scan that but let me keep the bigger one. Eeek!

I gulped nervously and then mentioned DTD. They couldn't have been nicer, and the assistant said that she would just have to get the duty manager to approve it. The DM was absolutely fine about it, so I got a DTD refund of ........£22.69!:j

The leg of lamb is huge - says it feeds 10-11 people. There's only me and my 2 children in the house! Guess who will be providing the meat for our traditional New Year's Day dinner at my mum's house?

Thank you sooo much to all the OPs who find these bargains. They make my life so much easier and enable me and my children to have things I wouldn't otherwise be able to afford. :A

    :smileyheaI blinkin' love you lot.:smileyhea
