Hi
Hoped for some feedback.
I'm currently with bt for home phone and broadband and pay about £35-£38 per month. Bt have just announced price increase and eliminatin there paper free discount.
I have sky plus and pay £40 per month.
Is the switch to sky worth it in terms of price, service and reliability.
Thanks for your time.

Hi, have you checked on Samknows if you can get Sky LLU broadband, as requested by Macman?
If so, the cost is Broadband Unlimited £10 ( assuming no Sky TV otherwise £7.50)
Sky Talk Freetime £0
Sky Line rental £ 12.25 or £119.40 upfront for 12 months.
So around £ 22.25 /month.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I chose to stay with BT over Sky just 2 days ago, but it all depends on your individual circumstances. I have both Sky LLU enabled on my exchange and I have Sky TV.
I chose to stay with BT because I'm over 3km from the exchange and I was concerned my speed would drop if I moved provider. Basically Sky's expected speed was between 0.3 and 1.5mps. I would likely have got a higher speed but the thought of being tied into a 12 month contract with BB speed as low as 0.3mps made me stay with BT.
If it wasn't for my speed concern I would have moved to Sky. If you have sky LLU broardband enabled on your exchange and have Sky TV they will be far cheaper than BT, and they have a good reputation for customer service.
From my experience with BT on Monday, if you get through to BT retentions these are the prices they are offering.
Line Rental £10 (£120 upfront for the year and they will not budge on this price)
BB option 2, which you currently have - £18 on the website with evening and weekend calls included. I have option 3 so I was negotiating for that, but from memory I believe they offered me option 2 for £10.25.
So that's
Line Renal £10
Option 2 £10.25
Friends and Family £1.50
Phone usage 2.80
= £24.55
So that's over £10 off your bill.0 -

Bunk got there before me.
BT's Retention deals on Option 2 are £17.25, £13.25 and £10.25, including Evening and Weekend Plan and McAfee security.
Check your usage, if it falls under 10GB monthly, i would push for the £8.25 Option 1 presuming you have your own security or don't need it.
Ady
PS - If your phone usage is £2.80, you're not benefiting from F&F Mobile, ask BT to remove it.0 -

Hi, i'm new to these boards but really need some advice. It's regarding switching to Sky broadband unlimited and Sky Talk with the included line rental which you detailed above (i'm a Sky TV customer btw). They are trying to charge me £60 to switch my phoneline over from BT to Sky. Can they do this? Has anyone else incurred this charge in the past/more recently? I went down the right route of getting a MAC code from my current ISP.
I can't see anything in the Sky Talk t+c's but I thought i'd ask for some more knowledgeable info in these fine forums.
Thanks in advance for any help.
