Ok, so haven't done everything but nearly.
I made a £1000 overpayment so all is good.
Will be off for a couple of days, back on Monday.0 -
Back from holiday, it all went ok. Not great though as OH is still not well. GP signed him off for another month meaning that we will only now get ssp. Huge blow to finances but his health is more important than anything else. I will need to check how we can afford things and sort out finances but the main priority is now to pay back Lloyds before baby comes.
Baby is well and we saw the heartbeat. I'm now over 7 weeks and went to the gp yesterday, hopefully midwife will get in touch soon.
I got a couple of items on freecycle (moses basket, play gym) and will get a breast pump today on gumtree which is a bargain. This baby will be very MSE! I haven't told anyone yet though OH told everyone in his family.
Back at work and all is good, just worried about OH and finances but hopefully it will work out well at the end.0 -
Just catching up with all the diaries - CONGRATULATIONS Kavics - I am so pleased for you xx0

Passed 8 weeks yesterday, feeling still quite stressed. Can't wait for the next 4 weeks to pass as quickly as possible.
We had a positive surprise, OH will get his full salary this month and SSP will kick in as of next month so hopefully I will be able to make a healthy overpayment. We have 5k to pay off before baby is due and it will only happen if I really save as much as possible.
All good otherwise, nothing is happening.0 -
Hopefully the next four weeks will fly by. Good news about OH's salary. Hope he's feeling a bit better."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0

Time for another update: Nothing good is happening. Oh is very very sick, he has flown home today to seek more medical treatment. We are not sure when he is back and what will happen but I will try my best to go and see him as often as our finances let me to. It's hard talking about a 34yr old man suddenly losing his health, not only he can't breathe now properly but the stress is affecting his sleep, his work, his confidence, everything. We need him to get better because frankly this kiddo is on the way and needs both of us.
Thankfully I feel fine, no morning sickness, no bad symptoms (apart from tiredness and constipation). I think Kiddo knows how stressed we are and just wants to co-operate by taking the pressure off. I have now my scan date, on the 15th May. I took the afternoon off and will spend feeling lonely as I will go on my own for the scan.
finances: nothing good either. I can't touch OH's salary as he needs it for private doctors. The flat is rented as of today, the agency found nice tenants so I'm really glad. I will use this money to either support OH or pay towards the loan, we need to get rid of Lloyds ASAP but at least before the baby is here. My mum said it well over the weekend that once you feel that everything is fine, life is as it should be, you realize how fragile things are.OH losing his health has a huge effect on everything and it makes me feel so sad.
But I'm strong, need to be for us. I will miss him dearly but I know that in Poland he will get more help than here.0 -
Oh Kavics..that's so hard for you, all 3 of you. I really hope he gets better soon but really appreciate how hard it is for you to be here by yourself.
Keep on looking after yourself and little un, resting when you need to and so on.
I am sorry you think he won't get the right help here..is it a case if changing GP or to another consultant? At least here I assume you don't have to pay?
Thinking of you honey

His gp is fantastic. It's the NHS waiting list which is killing it. He is referred for a second opinion and the waiting list is 4-6 weeks. He needs a second opinion as the first one stated that there was nothing they could do re helping his breathing. He is also referred to the sleep clinic with a possibility of sleep apnea, his initial assessment was on Fri and they want to keep him there for 2 nights to assess his sleep but the earliest appointment was in 8 weeks time. He is also referred to the psychotherapist but no appointment came through yet. So it's all waiting. He could go private but the sleep clinic itself is £1200 and the specialist for second opinion is £495. Back in Poland he can get everything done for the fraction of the price.
It is hard but at least I slept well last night.I was knackered:(.0 -
Sorry to hear about your OH Kavics, it must be so hard being apart.
Glad you are feeling well in yourself and got a good night's sleep last night.
Hope things get sorted very soon."If you can dream it, you can do it". Walt Disney0 -
