Yes, your claim is with the bank though, not any debt collection agency. Please see Martin's guide to reclaiming, link in my signature.0 -
I did through HSBC and they gave the money to the debt collecting agencyHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Hi all ! Just got my letter of response back from Barclaycard with a partial offer
of £331. My request was for £1450 (including interest, and all charges, not just
the difference) I'm certainly not going to accept this amount, so will write off again
to demand the full figure.
However, my account was passed to an agency a few months ago, and I have been
paying off a certain amount each month with the last payment due in August. The
amount they have offered would pay off the remaining debt, and leave the account
£31 (in credit I presume)
My question is this; How can I accept the amount they've offered as a partial
payment, and still demand the remaining £1119 to be paid to me, when the
account is being settled with a debt collection agency?
Hope someone can help, or shed some light on this!

Write back and say what you've put above. You accept the amount as a partial settlement only and you will continue to claim for the rest.
One of two things will probably happen, they will either pay up the £331 (probably to the debt collectors to reduce your balance) or they will withdraw the offer and you can claim for the whole amount.0 -

Thanks for your speedy response Nickmack!
Are there any template letters that deal specifically with this kind of demand? I just don't fancy writing my own now, since I've used the templates (which are fantastic!) just in case it ends up sounding unprofessional, which it undoubtedly will
Cheers!

I don't believe there are any templates for accepting a partial offer. You can literally write what I put above.
If you post what you're going to write, I'm sure someone here will take a look and check if it's 'professional sounding'.0 -
This normally works for me.
Dear Sir or Madam,
Re. Account number: xxxxxxxxxxx
Thank you for your letter dated XXXXXX. I am writing to inform you that I accept the payment that you have offered only as part payment without prejudice but that I intend to proceed with my claim for the full amount.0 -
Thanks everyone, I've used a combination of a couple of letters to get my point accross
Wish me luck!

Does reclaimin of Credit Card Charges also count on Store Cards? and what about if you have been chased for the debt my a debt collection agency?
N0 -
Yes it still works on store cards. I am currently claiming my store card charges back. It really doesn't matter if a debt collection agency have chased you for the amount owed. If you still owe money to them, then any offer you're made will go toward paying off the card first though.Barclaycard - £1251 reclaimed
