  • Hi I am new to forums but regularly receive the newsletter. I found this thread and think its a great idea! I have been trying to save for the last few months but always find some excuse to spend the money - on the car, bills etc.

    I know its a little late but can I join this? I sell on ebay and in January made about £150. This idea would really make me motivated to keep saving!

    Clipperty, did try to put items on ebay but our internet is so slow it's just taken me 5 minutes to open it up so will give it a miss for now - will try again tomorrow I think. How did you get on?

    Just got a letter from the Revenue saying my tax refund will be ..... wait for it .... £12.30! Cheque has gone to the accountant so will hold on until I've got it in my mitts and then add to total.
    Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting
  • Please count me in for this too if I'm not too late? I've just received £83 Quidco payout so will say thats my total for January!

    So far this month, I've signed up for the free trial at Netflix to get the £12.12 cashback.

    What you like! We are as bad as each other! I CNBA last night either lol. I did nowever bring the camera to work with me today as I knew there were about 30 items photographed ready to go on, got to work and some idiot has wiped the card :mad: could scream as Fridays are so quite at work I get the cance to put them on without any interference.

    Oh well guess what I am doing this weekend! Plus had a nice surprise from MIL we bought her a pushchair for her house when DD was born but she used it yesterday and it is far too small for her to sit in comfortably now so MIL gave us it last night to put on Ebay and when looking should make anywhere was around £50 to £120 for something I had forgotten all about really so will definitely get that on this weekend, even if it made £20 I would be happy as I call it surprise money!

    Thanks for the reminder Dave - I've done this now. Not enjoying the website though, there doesn't seem that much choice - are there really only 2 Steven Spielberg films on there?! Ah well, it's a freebie isn't it? :D

    Dave - I have looked into using Quidco and on a lot of review sites people say they dont pay out. Have you had any troubles with them?

    Well sorry guys but I've been a little bit occupied trying to keep my job taking an exam and siting an interview (only been employed 24years doing it lol). However the good news I have been succsesfull and thats a huge weight of my shoulders so on to the challange.

    Well I didnt place anything on e-bay yet, the reason being how many people have spare cash over the christmas period to spend on e-bay ? So this month has been a preperation month to start the empire in Feb.

    So, I have located an old savings account with £22.91 in it, managed to save £43.00 in change and have £13.96 on my boots card.

    Therefore:

    January = £79.87

    2012 in 2012 challenge member number 87 "DELL-BOY" total so far £79.87 / £2012

    Great to see so many of you motivated and doing well with the challange, keep up the good work and wishing you all the very best. Take care........

    Hi all, saved £50 in January by cutting back on buying rubbish/impluse buys. It's amazing how much I spend on rubbish!!

    Had already saved £500 in 2011 asked if I was cheating by adding it in and no one replyed so just added it in myself.
