I sold 13 in the end. The percentage of items sold is quite low compared to listed, so i wont state how many went up. lol.

Hate listing and packing the items, but when the money comes in it is always nice. :rotfl:

Going to try and list some more today.

I sold 12 out of 24 in the end, mixture of higher priced and lower priced items so done not badly! :j

    Hi all,
Its feeling like a very slow month. I have only saved £82 so far this month. £60 of that is because the electric company have reduced my DD for 6 months. The other £22 is from savings when shopping.
On the plus side. I have had an overhaul on my approach to the weekly shop and have found that for the last 3 weeks I have spent approx 1/2 of what I would usually spend. I am very surprised as the kids have been on easter hols for 2 weeks and they usually eat everything in sight. So I am reducing my weekly spend which I intend to put towards paying off catalogue and store card.
I have not listed anything on Eb*y for months. I find it really stressful. I think I am gonna find a few spare hours and list stuff ready for next free listing. I hate trying to get it done in a rush.
Anyway, well done to everyone who has stuck with the challenge:beer:

I know what you mean about eBay being stressful, what I tend to do is only list a few things at a time - I like to have a maximum of 15 listings, had 24 last week and it was too many.

Whilst I try and benefit by posting the higher priced items on free listing day I also list at other times as rushing on free listing days is just a nightmare!

I tried to start listing things with EBay this weekend for the first time in over a year, only to be told that my seller account was blocked !

Still waiting to hear back of EBay as to why - I was really hoping to get some books on there for sale as I need to get the cash in

Nomi01- spill, how did you half your groceries? Fabulous .
And eBay - I sold two things after relisting twenty things three times!!!!!
Bet your both feeling better now ha ha . I sold all my good stuff before Xmas but I am losing heart now. It never happened before. Think time for better photos and fresh listings.

On the plus side, my amazon CDs are selling regularly and with their fees I ooften make 6 or7pence!!!!
    It's all good! :rotfl:

Hi new person , pm Mennie to go on the list and jump right on in. I am in a good mood cos I got a job today and am actually sat here wondering what I'll use my wages for! Have you ever heard such a thing, everyone should do this challenge. Xx

Bess- TBH I am an impulse buyer when I go in the supermarkets. I write a list then never stick to it. Also always used credit card, so its not like real money.
So as of last month, I decided I would only shop using actual cash, have done some shopping online so I am less tempted to buy extras and I have also used up some of my stock pile. I have a stash of cleaning products that will last thru summer so that saves quite a bit. I have also stopped taking the kids when I go too as I always end up spending alot more.
In the past, I have bought the same things every week routinely, and at times I cant fit it all in the freezer. Now I am thinking more about each meal.
I know they seem like really obvious things but they have really worked for me. I would say I usually spend approx £100- £120 per week on food shopping for family of 5. The past 4 weeks I have spent a total of £220 approx as I managed to have a week where I only needed to buy milk and bread.
I dont know if I can manage it every month, but the money I have saved will go a long way towards paying for other things and a birthday party this month.:)

Hi have been shopping online for food for 9 years:eek:
It's helped pay off bills, gone toward's day's out with the kid's, holidays and treats. I am a impluse buyer and once you have your favorites list online you can keep going back to the same stuff. I also recommend you sign up to different supermarkets as they have different offer's on at different times. Also check out the coupon forum, you print off vouchers for the things your going to buy, you hand them to the driver. The store knock the money off your shopping, it's great!:) Offer's on products usually come round every 3/4 months when you combine it with a coupon your really saving some dosh. I also recommend you try SUPERMARKET OWN BRANDS, I have found the are usually better than the branded products e.g Tesco's own Jaffercakes, soft cheese, baked beans, chicken etc.

I also save money by buying soap nuts instead of washing powder, it gets your clothes ultra clean and you can still use your fav fabric softner with it. I highly recommend this (I buy my soap nuts on ebay by the way.)

Ive also started to use Tesco's baby shampoo to fill up my liquid soap dispenser as some else recommended on another forum. I didnt think it was going to be any good till I tryed it and everyone uses it not knowing the difference it's great stuff and at 9p a go! Give it a try I have Eczema and it's fine for me.

Well I hope I havent flooded you with to much info, best wishes and happy saving.

P.s have saved £62.00 on shopping over the last few weeks and I'm also adding my sealed pot challenge money into my savings for this challenge which is £110. Which brings me to £1112 saved so far:T

Alliboy -Wow thanks for the tips, I,m going to look for the printable discounts. I have also used different supermarkets online as I find that if you don't use one for a few weeks they tend to send you offers and free delivery. I also used to be brand loyal but now I go for the best deal.
I find own brand cereal just as good as the expensive kind.
I am going to consider buying soap nuts, But right now I still have about a 6 month supply of persil in the garage, I stock up when its half price.:)

I've said it before and I'll say it again now: I am utterly failing at this at the moment! The last 6ish weeks I've been pretty much non-stop with stupidly long days juggling work, uni, volunteering and the odd personal crisis but I'm back to this and raring to go again now I have a few weeks of calm (more calm than before anyway!). I should get some overtime through this week or next week so that shuld help kick start me again. This afternoon is going to be spent sorting through some stuff to go onto ebay, fingers crossed that at least some will go. I've got a list of areas where I know I can save money so my theory is to put that money over to savings and add it to this challenge (whether that works in reality is another thing though). Going to try and look through a few threads for some other ideas too. Everyone seems to be doing so well; keep doing so as it's inspiring me now I have a couple of hours spare in the day :)
