Slashed Tyres for the second time!!

Hi

Wonder if anyone can give advice really, have had my tyres slashed for a second time in a year, all 4 of them!! Also in July had my house burgles and car stolen!!!

So time for CCTV, was going to have it installed in July, but to be honest I thought it was a one off and we were not a target, sooooo wrong in my thinking!!

Any ideas og a good CCTV camera, obvioulsy not a lot of money as funds are tight just before xmas, but myself and kids to be able to sleep in our beds at night without being this scared again!!

Has anyone got CCTV or had this experience, the police have been informed but have got nowhere!!

Someone on this forum recently had some success in catching thieves on CCTV (who were then arrested), I suggest having a look through the forum posts dating back a week or so.

You need to decide whether you want CCTV as a deterrent OR if you want to catch them. A deterrent is as simple as a cheap (or dummy) camera, a couple of signs and a flashing light. Catching them would require a larger investment in good quality camera/kit.

Slashing of all 4 tyre's suggests to me that you've p!ssed somebody off. So I would start thinking about who you may have had altercations with recently/repeatedly. It's Newton's law......

I was going to ask that, but then I remembered how hard it apparently is to slash a cars tyre's.

  • Hiya

    Thanks for replies!

No other cars damaged, like I said I had this done this time last year and house burgled in July and car stolen at the same time. As for Pi$$in someone off, the only person who I can think of is my friends soon to be ex husband, its a messy nasty divorce case, he is targetting her and her forends and im one of them!!! He tries to ram us off the roads and everything, however police cannot prove anything and he would not be stupid to do the tyres himself, it would be a so called friend of his! So yes I need an actual CCTV to record and hopefully catch!

Where do you live..? I'd like to avoid the area... do neighbours have similar issues or are they the perps'?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

    That would be me :D

We installed this system after our car mirrors were stolen:

Yes, its not cheap, but we came to the conclusion that the amount of things that could be stolen from our car probably outweighed the costs (the first set of mirrors stolen would cost £100 to replace alone). Plus we also had an ongoing problem with someone letting their dog crap at the end of the drive.

We installed the camera and 2 weeks later our thieves came back. They didn't see the new cameras at all and were actually stood less than 3 feet from one of them, giving us, and the Police, a perfect picture of the pair of them.

One was caught and is actually in court today. The other is outstanding but the Police are confident of picking him up eventually as the CCTV footage is so clear.
Added bonus is I've not had to clear up a pile of poo since they went in.

Its a very easy system to install, the hard drive records and time stamps everything and you can download footage on to a memory stick. You can also link that system into your broadband and view it from a smartphone.

The only downside (and I know you will smile) is the hard drive is 'whirry'. Its not an issue when the TV is on etc and you don't really notice it, however, I have an OH who can sometimes snore like an earth tremor and I can't sleep on the sofa anymore because the noise from the hard drive is irritating on its own :o
  • Ahhhhh Ditto for the OH snoring I have one at home too! I will have to bunk in with the kids from now on then!

I seriously need this cctv though, tyres slashed this time last year, house burgled and car stolen in July and now tyres slashed again today!!!

Thanks for the heads up though!!
