A serious warning to all you Barclaycard owners out there,
your chip & pin card has a serious security issue leaving it wide open to fraud, Barclaycard will send out your pin no to your lodger, partner or.anyone at your address who requests it without doing any security checks.then when you find fraudulent withdrawals on your account and report it.they will lie to you and tell you that your protected an money fraudulently removed will be credited.i am still waiting.their response to complaints is to ignore them,If you have one of these accounts i strongly suggest you do as i did and close it imediatly and transfer any balance to a more secure card. You have been warned!

If its your address and the relevant person knows all your security etc why would barclays need to do further checks?0

I don't quite believe this. This isn't the full story surely ?0 -

if anyone in your house requests your pin no it should be refused , Barclaycard have a responsibility to keep such data safe which they failed to do resulting in losses..they have no buisiness disclosing your pin to anyone whether at your address or not without your written permission0 -

What happened ? If someone called Barclaycard and gave your details, how would Barclays know it wasn't you ?0 -

I suspect there is more to this than you are letting on.
I very much doubt that some random person just called up requesting a new PIN and Barclaycard send it out without any checks or asking for any security information WHATSOEVER.
I need to ask - if someone has your security information and calls up impersonating you, then short of a video camera or a biometric scanner than how are Barclaycard (or indeed anyone else for that matter) supposed to know that it's not you?0 -

Be very careful with any new cards and PIN numbers, ALL banks will adopt the same stance as Barclays if this happens again.0 -

What is proof of Identity?
Passports, Driving Licences, Utility Bills can all be forged. How do you know the documents you are scrutinizing are genuine?
A PIN without the card is useless. Unless of course the same person who acquired your PIN acquires a new card in your name.0
