resonably priced wedding rings ?

  • Hi OP

I appreciate that you are worried about the cost of the rings.

However, your wedding rings will be worn for the whole of your married life together.....IMO, worth stretching the budget for the best you can possibly afford.

Can you raise some extra money by selling things you no longer need?
Penny: I'm a little low on cash.
    Leonard: How much you got?
    Penny: Nothing!
Leonard: How can you walk around with no money?
Penny: I'm cute, I get by.

Three years! How long does it take to arrange a wedding?

Anyway, I did the same thing. Gave Mrs G a platinum engagement ring so we had to go with platinum for the wedding ring too. We ended up going to Brum jewellery quarter and found a place that would let Mrs G design her own ring. The price was very reasonable.

You could save a bundle by not going for a platinum ring for yourself. I got a titanium ring made for me in Brum. It was a good decision because I very rarely wear it and IMHO platinum would have been a complete waste of money.
  • well we got engaged over 3 yrs ago.. but due to haveing a baby, moving in to our first house, me working full time & doing a day release at university for a degree things have been somewhat... tough ?
we are planning on getting married in April 2012.. so will be planning the wedding in a little over 3 months :)

Anywho, i do have old jewelry but would never sell it as it has far too much personal meaning (grandparents wedding rings). Im not a fan of yellow gold as it just does not suit me... or i would have had the two rings melted down and made in to one for me.

I dont mind getting palladium as its pretty much the same as platinum, just cheaper.
I currently rock a MENgagement ring which is Tungsten and love it because its so blooming hard it just does not get scratched...
but im looking for something a bit nicer as my actual wedding ring.

I will be wearing the ring 24/7 unless im working on the car, so it has to be nice and something i like.

I would love to go to the brum jewelry quater, but im on the south coast so its a rather long trip! would the london jewelry quater be any good ?

Again, thanks for all your suggestiongs and keep them comming :)

I was only pulling your leg. :)

Although I have never been, I expect the London jewellery quarter would be just as good at the Birmingham one. The advantage is that you get a lot of choice without walking miles.

I know gold isnt cheap. but Yellow gold does not suit either of us, 'White' gold needs to be replated and works out very expensive in the long run.

Since her engagement ring is platinum i would like to get her ring in the same material... mine im not too fussed about, but must match hers.

My engagement and wedding rings cost less than £250 - one is white gold, the other is silver and we got them from H Samuel.

No-one has been able to tell them apart, and I often get asked if they are platinum...to which I always nod. :rotfl:
