Well...
Unfortunately weddings are not money saving, but im trying to keep the cost down as much as possible as we dont have ££££ to spend on a lavish wedding.
Anywho... rings . I have got Mrs SB a platinum engagement ring.. so her wedding ring must be of the same material...
If would also be nice for mine to be platinum too ( so they match and im not a fan of white / yellow gold).
but my god! platinum has gone through the roof in cost in the 3 years since i got her first ring. shops want min of £800 for both rings
does anyone know any good online places to get the rings from ( ideally under £500 but could stretch a little more).
Thank you
Adam

I got my other halves platinum engagement ring from Blue Nile (online diamond retailer) and plan to get her wedding ring from there to match. We're getting married next year and last time I looked a decent 2.5mm band was around £300 I think?
May be worth a shot

You might get a better response for this question over on the Weddings Board, it's under 'Christmas and Other Yuletide Festivals' (who knows why?!)

myself and my husband got both of our wedding rings from H Samuel in July 2010 and they are white gold and palladium, they cost about £180 each and are not cheap looking whatsoever.
Give them a try as they have a good range for a tight budget.
BTW Palladium is the cheaper version of Platinum so dont know if this would be any good for you? My Palladium wedding ring matched my white gold engagement ring very well indeed.0 -
Even as jewelers begin to recognize that there is a demand for gay wedding rings, in many cases, couples still need to have them specifically designed to accommodate their needs. Remember that brides usually wear their wedding rings with the engagement rings. That is why you need to make sure that both rings work with each other.

thanks for all the comments so far everyone
.
I tried H.Samuel yesterday but got quoted £325 for a 2mm platinum band for her, and £450 for a 5mm Palladium ring for me!
£775 was a bit steep really so i asked for a discount... even spoke to the store manager who told me they could not lower the price !
I will have to try Smooch next
zacharycampbell86 - Not sure where you are going with the 'gay' weddign rings though. Im pretty sure Miss SB is a girl :rotfl:Mortgage free wannabe!

Have you got any old jewellery you can sell? Gold is at a very high price at the moment and you might be able to do a deal with a jeweller.0
