if you want to use chrome but are cautious of googles involvement then you can always use Iron Browser, it is the same code and the open source Chrome just is not built by google and doesn't have any of googles additions.

Seamonkey runs Firefox plugs as would be expected. Occasionally some of the less well written ones mis-identify it because they read its user agent header and don't recognise it - but this is easily fixed with, believe it or not, the user agent switcher plugin

I've heard all the guff before about x killing y in browser land, much like I've heard the same guff with OS's. It will be a cold day in hell before any Google POS goes near a system of mine.

Bloated and buggy, especially when trying to develop xml applications as I'm finding out. As good as IE 5.5 imo so won't be missed by me.

Mozilla killed itself by concentrating on everything else but speed.

I've tried Chrome on the PC and its fast but on the notebook its sluggish because its so bloated, Opera is far more leaner and will be the king of speed once they get the GPU acceleration sorted

I use FF. I don't like Chrome and don't Google apparently spy on your browsing?

I also use Lunascape, which I do like because it incorporates three engines and it loads deviantART better than Firefox.

FF on both my machines is unstable a lot, Opera is good but netscape was the best

I think that the resistance to Opera comes from the time when you had to pay for it. Opera is a beautiful browser, but not as forgiving of page errors as other browsers - which, tbh, is the right attitude to adopt anyway. If people coded pages properly in the first place, and stuck to standards it would never be an issue.

You can install any number of browsers that you wish and depending on how much memory you have on your machine, you could run several browsers simultaneously at the same time with lots of tabs open.
