EXPIRED whitestuff - free £10 no min spend but p&p to pay

Just a heads up, I've just got back from White Stuff in Reading (only around the corner from office and thought I'd save P&P). Tried to buy two pairs of socks for £8 and they wouldn't take the voucher! Said I had to spend £10 or MORE ("We can't just give you free stuff"). When I described the terms of the voucher being no minimum spend (and no money back if spending less than a tenner) they said "The tills won't let us do it".
I bought another pair, thus paying £2 for 3 pairs which is obviously still good but can't help feeling a little cheated.
What's everyone elses' in store experience using the code?0 -

You feel cheated because you didn't get free socks?

Ok so there are worse injusticies in the world but I don't like that they would not honour the t&cs of the voucher.
Low value items this time but the principle remains the same.
Thanks for the sarcasm though!

I spent just over £10 so had no problem redeeming it - but it did take an awfully long time to do. If everyones transactions take as long as mine (almost 10 mins) they are gonna be swamped today - not that I feel sorry for them after the fiasco of the free necklace two weeks ago :rotfl:
yet another case where the staff haven't been informed and are making up their own T&C's it seems0 -
I placed an order online with them on the 22 Nov using a code they had sent me that was also a £10 no min spend. I ordered a Charlotte bracelet (cost £10) so just had p&p to pay. The order has been showing as 'ready to ship' every day since. I phoned today and was told the bracelet was out of stock but that I was on a waiting list and would be on it for 3 weeks. If the bracelet comes back in stock and there are enough of them to reach me wherever I am on the waiting list then it will be sent to me. I doubt very much that I am going to ever receive the bracelet!0

I want to expand on my post.. just been to the shop and have had to ring their customer service complaints. Used my voucher and also purchased other goods over the amount.. went back to look for something else that caught my eye and the two sales assistants starts talking about me using the voucher rudely and starts laughing loudly and carrys on sla**ing me off.. ov didn't realise i was still in the shop! I have rang customer complaints and let them know what happened, but I'm mortified, never want to go in that particular store again!0 -
Used my voucher in my local store with no problems, they even wrapped it for me! This is the third time I have used one of the £10 off vouchers this year and each time the manager has had to spend ages getting the till to accept it.0
