    Hi all,

managed to get a roll end of carpet from a carpet shop for a fiver today. Perfect for plonking in the kitchen and ths making it significantly warmer underfoot. I have slate tiles under it and they are bluddy freezing.

Also just cleaned up as the cat had used my washing bin as a cat litter tray, needless to say, the cat is off my christmas card list and will not be receiving a present either. Washing machine on at 90degrees.

Technically I'm supposed to have tomorrow off but doubt it as work is very 'up in the air' at the mo.

Minion is now the proud owner of an upper set of braces. And when the orthodontist suggested I went off for a coffee whilst she put them on, Minion asked 'can mummy stay with me, please?'. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. :) Not such a tough kid after all! She then sat here for over an hour and only got a little bothered right at the end when they were doing the last two teeth at the back and were pulling her jaw around a bit.

I then came back with her via shops (got myself a new rice cooker as I dropped a pan on the old one and smashed it - and it was easily the most used thing in the kitchen after the kettle) and the market, have blitzed the kitchen and moved a set of shelves away from in front of the radiator in the hope it gets a bit warmer in there, cleaned out 2 cat nasties trays, fielded various attacks and assaults from the ninja kitty directed at myself and at the other cats, done DW and WM and TD, cleaned the appliances, got my coffee machine out and cleaned it, reorganised my sewing machine so it is out of the way but easy to access at any time, relocated some baking tins and generally done a lot more than I intended when I got home.

Oh, and I had a gig in a wine bar tonight. Public transport there, public transport back, I'm shattered and I still can't quite believe I get to do this. I guess these days, I really can give my occupation as musician.

    :D:D:D

I'm off to bed. I have to get up to make sure Minion has hot soup in a flask for lunch tomorrow, as she can't eat the school dinners (crusty/dry/stale rolls, apples, etc) until the pressure in her mouth has eased off, and I don't think the flask will keep it warm enough to do it now.

    Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwmmmmmmmmmmm.

    Morning All

I don't know whether my parents are having the dog at their house Saturday night or here yet so I don't know whether I need to sort my BR out as well as everywhere else tonight or whether I can just concentrate on downstairs. I haven't got to go anywhere tonight though so the plan is to get some things done.

DD2 is very excited about her school play tomorrow morning. DD1 is nervous about her driving test. It's at 8.30am and we would appreciate lots of passing test vibes.
My stubbed toe is very hot and painful. I've bunged some antibiotic cream in a gauze pad and am hoping that sorts it out.
Hope the school play is brill
Lots of passing vibes for DD

  • Morning!

Minion suitably despatched for school with a flask of chicken soup and a tub of instant porridge. I'd do normal stuff, but that involves her sitting down and eating, which is apparently impossible in the morning, whereas a cardboard tub you pour kettle water into when making your flask of tea for school can be carried and eaten whilst sitting on the bus. Yes, her friends do think her very strange, with her tea and her porridge and her handwarmers. But they're quite happy to have a cuppa at breaktime with her.

I have unloaded & reloaded TD, fed cats, showered and cleared kitchen table - yes, I have a table!!!! So I am sitting at it with a cat snoring at my feet (direct line from the air vent on the TD), one in front of the laptop and one on the bass flight case behind the small sofa. Sigh. Seems to have a magnetic attraction for music related stuff, does that one.

Just debating whether to get dressed or make some toast. I think the toast is winning.

Good luck to all those shepherds and angels and sheep in their performances - don't forget fully charged camera batteries and tissues, parents and GPs! Good luck in driving tests, doctors appointments and anything else I have overlooked as well!

Someone has woken up, apparently, judging by the small needle like claws wrapped around my left foot at this moment.

That's decided it. Toast it is - and another cuppa.
