The whole replacement/refund how is this confusing I ordered a chair it has not arrived when they stated it would was wondering if anyone had any ideas if I would get a replacement or refund so I can plan ahead and buy from somewhere like argos tomorrow. The chair is suitable from 0 + this is why I choose this one as we knew with her health issues she would have to have a c section.
Not sure why you feel the need to post and make jokes about sending the baby back i asked a serious question not for people with nothing better to do with their time to come along and just be daft.
Stroppy!
Call Tesco in the morning and ask for a refund. Go to Argos and buy what you want. It's not difficult?0 -
If it's going to be with you in a few days, there's no harm done.
A brand new baby is fine lying flat in its cot. They're better off lying down anyway.0 -

The long & short of it is that if you ordered online / over the phone, and no longer want an item, you can pretty much get a refund due to distance selling regulations. (Not quite sure what difference it makes if you pick up from store, may just mean that once you leave store your rights are different, but never had a problem returning an unused item to Tesco).
However - you will probably have to wait until the item has arrived in store before requesting it refunded (as you basically reject the order), so if short term cash flow is the problem, this may not help. Or, if you don't collect after 2 weeks, the order is treated as rejected & money refunded.0 -

Why stroppy? The question was not difficult either will they give me a replacement or refund.0 -

yep I had all 3 of mine in a moses basket for first few weeks as was too sore to bend over and place baby in the cot but as shes on her own and feels like no one is around her I did not want to let her down with something she wanted to buy but I offered.0 -

All this information is on the Tesco website, or indeed I have stated it twice on this thread. To make it simpler:
1. Dial the number for Tesco (I trust you can find it?).
2. When someone answers, say 'Hello, with reference to order number ... , as you have failed to deliver to store in time, I wish to cancel. Thank you very much'.
3. Wait for operator to confirm that your order is cancelled.
Bobs your uncle!0 -

As I stated in OP I have rang them and they have told me as they can not track it tonight I have to speak to someone tomorrow as only direct staff manger can help me.0 -

I think that if the item has already been despatched from the depot, you have to go into the store to 'cancel' / reject the order, as you will already have been billed at that point.
(I had this when I ordered an xBox - forgot to enter a promo code but was too late to change it - had to go in & get it refunded)0 -

So ring tomorrow! I was not suggesting that you rang at this time on a Sunday night.I think that if the item has already been despatched from the depot, you have to go into the store to 'cancel' / reject the order, as you will already have been billed at that point.

You are wrong. Under the DSRs the consumer can cancel at anytime within the relevant timeframe, irrespective of whether the goods are in transit or in their possession. Refer to the legislation if unsure.0
