Hi all i brought a bouncy chair as a gift for my friend that has had her baby 4 weeks early so been in hospital for last week. I ordered the chair online last sunday and was told to pick it up from store after Tuesday 29th. I went to said store today to pick the chair up but the lady at the desk told me there is no sign of my order on system. I came home to get order number and print out confirmation email and rang the store to confirm details and ask them to re check.
Now they have just phoned me back to say there has been a problem and that it has not been delivered to the store I need to wait till tomorrow morning to speak to someone but I wont be getting my chair in the next few days as it is still to be delivered.
My friend gets out of hospital tomorrow so what can I do they have taken money last Sunday so is it just a refund I will get or will they offer me a replacement product?
Thanks for any help

Did you get an email or a text to definitely say to pick it up, the text i received says "my order is ready for collection from X store". Re refund replacement id ask whats your options but i feel that a refund maybe the only option if the store doesn't stock an alternative.0

Or, alternatively, just wait a day or two until it arrives. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

I can not wait a day or two she gets out tomorrow and would have brought the chair herself if I had not offered to get it for her. I do not mind buying a new one hence asking if they will provide replacement so I can plan ahead and order from somewhere else.
This is email I recieved
Thanks for placing your order ******** with Tesco direct on Sunday 27 November 2011.

COLLECTING YOUR ORDER
Please collect your order after 4pm on Tuesday 29 November 2011 from ****** Tesco.0 -
Do they have any models in store that you would like? If so, ask for a refund and buy the one in store. If not, ask for a refund and buy elsewhere. Sorted!0

Sorry, but this is quite confusing. Are you saying that she would have brought the chair to hospital?
The whole refund/replacement choice doesn't make any sense either. If you want to buy the chair, what difference does a couple of days make? Surely it won't be too much of a hardship to wait a day or two. It's not as if she is going to send the baby back if she doesn't have a chair. The baby will be too small for it anyway. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

But that will take even longer, wouldn't it?The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

No she would not have taken it to the hospital with her but shes home tomorrow and as she has had a c section she needs somewhere to sit baby as it would be very uncomfortable for her to hold baby all day.
The whole replacement/refund how is this confusing I ordered a chair it has not arrived when they stated it would was wondering if anyone had any ideas if I would get a replacement or refund so I can plan ahead and buy from somewhere like argos tomorrow. The chair is suitable from 0 + this is why I choose this one as we knew with her health issues she would have to have a c section.
Not sure why you feel the need to post and make jokes about sending the baby back i asked a serious question not for people with nothing better to do with their time to come along and just be daft.0 -
