Sorry I am making you think, Purps :rotfl:
I guess I am lucky in the fact that my children are that much older and are now taking more responsibility for themselves and away from me....of course there are plenty of parenting issues still there, but I don't have to work everything around them either on a physical "must be there" basis, or on a financial basis - DD now has her own job, and DS has a Saturday job and a paper round, so that takes the pressure off me to an extent.
I did hide behind the social thing too for a bit, but it wasn't quite right, hence my "issues" with the whole Friday night thing that I wrote about in my last diary.....but in the summer that all started to change when I started to address things properly, and with the help of the counsellor I have been seeing. Now there is far more acceptance about a whole lot of things which makes the true enjoyment of being me a huge amount better!!

Regardless of the other changes in your life, some things that have happened recently would still have happened. Namely, your children are only lent to you, at some point you have to let them go and return to being *you*. But it will always be a different *you* than the one you were before they arrived, because you've learned so much along the way.
Enjoy yourself while you can.

Hypno - has anyone told you lately just how amazing you are??!!
Thank you for sharing such wonderful & well thought out posts, giving us all such food for thought! Your last few post have retriggered some great points in regard to 'me' & 'self' & the emotional rewards of looking as good on the outside as feeling on the inside!

Glad to be of assistance ladies, but remember, that you all help me along the way too!!
Have just got home from a pre-Christmas evening out with the girls. Very low key for me....just one diet coke all evening, but I did get a cab home which cost £15....still, a night out for under £20 in the run up to the festivities, plus the knowledge of a clear head for work tomorrow is not so bad really!
Had a few laughs, there were a few tears too - it has been a very emotional year for the whole group, and we are all at various stages of the same journey, but again I could see just how much of a road I have travelled.
