Good for you. There have been times in your diary that you mention getting bonuses/inheritances and it all going on ski trips/debts. It really is time that you had something for you and something that you can look at every day that gives you a few butterflies and a reminder of how hard you worked to deserve it.
I also love the sound of the pictures you are having framed. I love photography as art. Do you have a link to the exhibition that they come from?
Oh, I just remembered that somebody told me about the Rolf Harris picture on Antiques Roadshow the other week. I used to work with somebody who was on holiday in Cornwall and she fell in love with a painting. She had to have it and arranged with the gallery owner to pay in instalments until she could come back and collect it. Then he told her it was by Rolf Harris (original). Her husband fell about laughing but she didnt care because she loved the painting and had never bought herself anything so expensive (she paid £1000 for it). Based on the AR show I reckon that she made a good investment and I bet her OH isn't laughing now. Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. But I love them - they are at the framers now, and will be ready to hang on my walls for Christmas.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Yes, I think so too - of course, they're not all risque, but the health warning had to be given! I love the one of the ballerina on his home page too.....and at the exhibition I went to there were some others on the same theme which don't appear on his website which were just beautiful.
In fact, the ones I have ordered don't appear on his website - he has far far more in his catalogue than appear online, but he is a really really helpful guy and spent ages emailing me images for me to trawl through to get exactly what I wanted. I have to say as well that the cost was not prohibitive for such beautiful images, because they really were printed on the highest quaility paper etc. Would thoroughly recommend him if you are into that type of photography.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks for your words of wisdom re i-Mac - I certainly will be shopping around to make sure i get the pest price possible - I do have little guilt about it as I had to do a cash transfer on a 0% credit card recently to pay my mum some money she lent me years ago and was happy to wait for - but she has the oppertunity of a lifetime to go to the Holy land so needed it back - it will be paid off during interest free period but could be paid before then if I don't buy the computer! Dialemas!
Fantastic photographs!!!
Right - weather here is shocking - rain/hail/sleet/wind so not even tempted to go shopping! Off to experiment with biscuit/shortbread recipes to make for work presents - I made the mistake of giving all my line managed staff a little gift at Christmas 2 years ago when i first started in this job - unfortunately my team has grown so now got 20 instead of 10 to give to so better get cracking - oh and got to clean house and do washing before kids come home from thier dads at tea time! Have a good day everyone0 -
Go with the imac - as long as you have a plan in place to repay everything you owe without it causing you undue stress. Don't feel guilty - I have learned that lesson.
I've got another load of washing in as well - my aim is to get everything done this weekend so that I can take next week in my stride. My cleaner will come in on Thursday as normal, so I hope that all pre-Christmas chaos will be well and truly gone by then!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks Hypno they are beautiful (if a little risque for some). I used to work with a guy who did that kind of photography and I always wish that I had bought some but I was very young and didnt want people at work to think that I was into "fetish" stuff because they were all older religious women who were quite against his photography. The ballerina is beautiful I agree.
2012 is going to be fantastic for you I just feel it.Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow -- Mary Anne Radmacher0 -
MrsMoo, I have to say I don't think I would be buying such things if my MiL were still likely to pop around for coffee - they really would have been too much for her, I'm sure!!
But I've gone for "tasteful" ones :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
