Help me understand ebay buyers

Oliver, when we was being made homeless and went to the council for help, they wanted a year of bank statements to check we were not hiding money or lying about how much we had. If there had been anything other than income on there we would not have been housed.
I also know several unemployed people who do the above also, leave the money in Paypal to spend with people who take Paypal and have a nice little business on the side of benefits. The only thing is, this sort of thing would not occur to those that of us that are honest. Even I was shocked, I declare everything that goes through my account but I can imagine it would be easy to syphon it off and claim it as 'expenses' being self employed. I, however, would be too scared of getting caught.
Paypal/eBay 'earnings' is the 'cash in hand' of this generation.0 -
One of the people of whom I am aware who was investigated for alledged benefit fraud was told to supply all her bank statements for perusal and was told that if she 'forgot' a bank account then it would be treated as serious fraud.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. it would always tickle me to see items with bids at the same or higher price as the BIN just a few listings away :rotfl:0

£100 isn't a large amount in my view - I usually keep a couple of hundred in mine. I got the impression that the person I commented on was keeping thousands in there - I obviously assumed incorrectly. There are plenty of stories of people keeping large amounts in paypal, getting restricted for some reason and then not being able to touch their money for the 180 days.I've always kept around £100 balance in my paypal account just to cover any refunds etc. I've done this for over 10 years. As long the as the amount is an amount if held you could live without for a while can't see the problem. There's always a bit too much paranoia around this issue.0 -

You can't be making a huge profit if you buy for £8 and sell including p&p for £13 though !!
I would just count your blessings that you are making a bit of extra cash...especially at this time of year.
Maybe as others have said...it just saves them the hassle of going to the supermarket...and also maybe the supermarket has no stock left....if you are buying all of these items :rotfl:(and I can only presume they are toys..at this time of year)When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0
