I have a huge gap between Equifax, Experian and CallCredit report, due to CallCredit having none of my details of past loans/cards and the online Experian report I've seen has very few details. I'm new to it but I gathered from what some people have said on here the Experian one can show a lower 'score' depending if you use a third party to obtain it...

So, I'm definitely NOT applying to anyone who solely uses Experian on their own.

I wonder if there is a way to update their files to add more info on you, if it's beneficial.

As to your Vanquis card, did they just randomly and without reason mark you as having an arrangement? In which case I would tackle them about it, explain the situation and have it amended.

  • could anyone tell me the data suppliers for the hunter and URU search facilities? Am i right in summising that they are both basically search engines, that match (or not) suplied information, and give a reliability factor score. How would it score a person that has never previously obtained credit of any sort?
i believe that the passport agency, D.V.L.A and all utility suppliers provide information, but what if a person doesnt register on these databases? sorry for the long-winded question:confused:
  • Ive just checked out my credit scores with all 3 companys. Ive a good rating with 2 but it seems that Experian dont seem to have any details. and have given me a lower score. How do I resolve this? iam on the electoral roll will no missed payments etc and the 2 other companys seem to have all my details. Thanks

If you have Credit Expert and the Equifax one (can't remember the name) give them a ring and they can update your details over the phone ..

Good news for people with a good credit history with Call Credit, Monument only do a credit check at the moment with Call Credit, they gave me a card yesterday and I checked my files and the search only appeared on Call Credit.

It seems Callcredit, Equifax and Experian are sharing info now, some of my negative data is reflected on there too.

    CC limits £26000

    Long term CC debt £0

Total low rate loan debt £3000

    Almost debt free feeling, priceless.

Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

AFAIK the 3 CRAs don't share data directly but the major financial organisations will send each of them a monthly submission of your credit accounts (google "CAIS credit" for more). This submission consists of name, address, open/closed/settle dates, balances, months in arrears, missed payments, worst status etc and forms the basis of the CRA data, along with public data (bankruptcies, CCJs), Electoral Roll and your previous application details, that is returned to an organisation when a credit search is undertaken.

Taken from the Experian web site, the non-consumer part aimed at lender's:

Credit scoring is an automated technique used by lenders to help them decide whether or not to lend. This is based on information included in a consumer's credit report, together with the information they provide on an application form for credit purposes that a lender can use to calculate a credit score. This helps the company identify the risk in offering their customer credit and helps them to lend responsibly. Credit scores do not take account of gender, religion or race.

The Delphi scores distil the data held in Experian's credit databases into simple and easy-to-use risk scores. They are designed to predict the likelihood that a new applicant for credit will become a 'good' payer if accepted. They are used by over 130 leading financial institutions.
This dynamic risk score is generated in real time based on the information that is held by Experian at the time of generating this score and the information you are permitted to see as a lender. Experian does not hold or maintain this score, this means that the score will change with any new data provided to Experian and will change dependent on the data access rights by each lender. There may be other data relating to the applicant or their financial associates that would influence their rating and which is not available to you and which has not been factored into the risk rating.
It is recommended that the Experian score be used in conjunction with your own underwriting and assessment criteria and other information provided by the applicant in respect of their or their financial associates' circumstances. It must not be taken to be a conclusive view of the applicant's risk profile.

So, Experian don’t provide credit score's to lender's then do they not...Liar's!
