What food items do you buy for Christmas?

I make veggie sausage rolls for Christmas, just little tiny cocktail sized ones with mustard and a handful of strong grated cheese inside the pastry before rolling up and cutting into small bite size pieces. I make cheese straws with the leftovers, yum! I'll also make some little open savory filo tarts, filled with feta & spinach, a cheesy quiche type filling and creamy mushroom. Oh and I make gingerbread biscuits for the tree and to eat. The main treaty thing we invest in for Christmas is decent Champage, various local cheeses, the best smoked salmon we can find and some blinis and cream cheese (easy nibbles).0

Yum!! I haven't had these for years but will be buying some for sure! I also buy double cream (don't buy it during the year as it's too fattening), biscuits for cheese, different cheeses, mince pies, panettone (small one), brioche, proper butter and I generally allow myself to impulse buy a few things when going round the supermarket in the week before Christmas. This year I don't want to have loads of food in though as I am trying to lose weight - have shifted just on 8 stone since this time last year and want to lose a bit more!Jane

After Eights. We used to only buy tins of chocolates at Christmas until we decided as a student house that they would become an essential part of our lifestyle for happiness benefits.0
