In 2012 I pledge to:- Save £1 a day, meal plan, be more organised, have NSDs, set myself a budget AND STICK TO IT, throw all loose change into Sealed Pot and not open it till 29th November.:money:
  • Hi

I'd very much like to join this challenge. Can I be put down for a target of £500?

I did just wonder how big peoples pots were? I have a change pot that I've been using for a while (all change other than £1 coins goes in every evening) and I've found that it fills up very quickly - so within 2-3 months. What do others do?

    Thanks

Im new to this as well and at the mo Im using 2 empty pickle jars with masking tap over the top, shabby chic (actually forget the chic bit:rotfl:)
Im guessing they will fill up quiet quickly (fingers crossed) one for coppers one for silver.
I will take them to the "coin counter" machine at my local supermarket, bank it, then start all over again!
    Good luck:beer:

It'll be a pleasure to have you with us, kittyfantastico. A warm welcome aboard and have fun saving. :D You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through the 1st post as it'll let you know exactly how the challenge works. NB. Pots are emptied on 29th November 2012, thank you.

*Please pop your numbers on your sigs, it helps so very much.

The size of pots is really up to us all, but if you only have a small one (you're not a fellar are you!) then you could always open it every so often and put it in the bank or BSociety. If so, would you kindly pop each amount on your siggy, added up each time obviously.

Alternatively, anything will do, some people use a sweet tine ie celebrations, roses etc; so long as it's taped then it doesn't matter. The first 'pot' I had was a large C@dburys drinking chocolate drum now I've been given all different kinds, mostly for gifts.

See what you think, there's no rush.

That's fine life in termoil, will do and thanks for the PM. I see what you mean now ;) I leave as is til folk let me know, which you have thanks.

Hiya sparky, you just up or going to bed? That's some darned good savings already! I like it a bit when they're empty..I like it more when they're full though. :( Hey sparks, I just realised why my money was less this time - I had my £50 pay out from YouGov last year and put that in too!!! I'm chuffed to bits now!!! :j

    Good to see you, janey.

Me too, LAM!!! ...and why not!
