    Good Afternoon everyone
We're back home now, arrived yesterday morning, seriously jet lagged and missing New York so much :(. You won't beleive this but we went to the Rockefeller building and on the way through security I found 1p road change on the floor, who'd have thought you go 3500 miles only to find an English penny :D

Honestly DW and I had a fantastic time and can't wait to get back there, Sue & LC2 you were both right I did need tissues for my DW for the news I was breaking to her.

So it's time to let you all in on my "surprise" We're debt free as of 20th January 2012, since August 2011, thanks to all the overtime I've re-paid £9492.02 :j, plus while we were away I also bought my DW a diamond engagement ring, paid cash :D. It's something I've wanted to do for over 21 years as we couldn't afford one when we got engaged.

So there you have it gang

    :j:jWE'RE DEBT FREE :j:j

The next thing to go is the mortgage :)

Hope the wait for the surprise was worth it :)

Well done!! I even cried a little reading that :) I'm so happy for both of you.
Would it not be fun if we did a SPC 5 day out and all meet? We'd all have such fun (and spend our savings in the process )!

Count me in :) sounds awesome x

Most surreal event in New York!
We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, on the Brooklyn side we stopped for a drink at a bar/restaurant. The bar/restaurant was Italian. The owners were Russian & the music playing in the back ground was Christmas music. Can't get my head around that one!

that's amazing. I'd love to see that!! Ha ha

    Welcome home Sparky.

I'm so pleased to hear that you both had a brilliant and memorable occasion in New York.

So give us the details, where, when how...............please tell me it wasn't on bended knee at Rockerfeller Centre whilst you were making roadkill of the English penny :rotfl:

Well done again on achieving your debt free status :T, fingers crossed I'll be joining you at the begining of 2013 and then I also be attacking the mortgage.
